Had dinner at Jersey Kebab tonight before the Indivisible vigil/march in Collingswood for ICE victims.
I did get to live in this Philadelphia apartment building back in the 1980s. Not exactly a turret, but still pretty sweet.
We once caught our now-departed mouser in the act. Alas, IIRC this mouse didn't make it.
Gee, I can't wait to see what Homer's new book is about! Wonder when his next one will be out?
I decided to try the Wawa taco out of curiosity. I'm a big fan of Wawa, but I have at least 3 Mex places within a mile (4 if you count Chipotle), so ... This is what I got. IMO once you roll it up it's no longer a taco. The ad pics are NOT of a rolled tortilla, so on some level they know that.
I said something about the current regime being sewer clowns all the way down. My sister reminded me of this German headline from when Trump was first elected (Please not the Horror-Clown!). It's currently out of stock at Geek Details, but maybe they should bring it back.
Tiny red Grafton, WV held a small No Kings protest. Our 7yo great-niece was given a sign by another attendee. They estimated 50-60 people on the 4 corners. It wasn't listed on the event page, so others probably went to Fairmont or Morgantown.
We can let Murphy lounge in his carrier on car trips (although it's open only when one of us is keeping an eye on him).
I love origin stories from the cat distribution system. Murphy was dumped in WV near our niece's home. He was a live bug, but they couldn't keep him. They brought him here when they drove up for PhilCon because our old man cat had died that summer.
Yesterday I met a retired art teacher / current artist at @crindivisible.bsky.social's Unity in Action: Politics & Coffee Talk. She gave me a piece of her art:
Just FYI, shortly after this pic of kittens in a fish-shaped cat bed was taken, the kittens decided it was a poor substitute for people laps & curling up with the adult cats. The adult cats ignore cat beds except occasionally to sleep ON them.
I recently discovered kuymak at Jersey Kebab (jerseykebab.com) Cheese, butter, & cornmeal make for long thick strings of cheesy goodness.
I got a whistle like this at a convention a few years ago, but it turns out it's not very loud at all. I'm going to have to find something louder before ICE arrives in my area.
There must be NO agreement for GOP vaporware promises. Have we learned nothing from Charles Schulz?
Looking at the footage of Trump standing like his batteries just died at the "health" press conference, & I think I see the problem. Miller was holding the legs of the guy who fainted, & apparently dropped Trump's remote control. The electronics are more miniaturized these days, of course.
Found something yellow to wear to No Kings (don't usually shop at Walmart, but ...). www.walmart.com/ip/Time-and-...
I regret to inform you that commands like these are still ignored even after they've grown up. This is the look you get.
Back in March I had contact cards printed to give people at protests & other locations. Originally the image was going to be a cat sitting on books, but I was in more a badger mood than a cat, and @tkingfisher.com was kind enough to give me permission to use her drawing. 1/
For future reference, you might consider installing one of these in open windows to keep them from going through the regular screens. They're inexpensive I hope they're home soon!
Group of protesters in front of a church at the Collingswood NJ No Kings protest. Organizers estimate 5,000, which I think is pretty good for so close to Philadelphia.
