#caturday Kitties seen while visiting my husband’s family in Greece. This is just at one restaurant - Greece is full of cats.
A second ominous graphic from NIH posts on X. “Geographical balance” (although the abundance of universities and institutes doing research is not at all geographically balanced) “Stewardship of funds” (????) “ICO priorities” (which would include input from political appointees)
Post from NIH on X. Interesting how the graphic they chose depicts robust, varied streams of research shrinking and compressing into a bland, uniform, anemic looking flow……… (Link for the webinar web.cvent.com/event/088eea...)
#caturday Special version of Monopoly that my cat likes to call “kill the housing market” (by killing the small green houses)
In addition to boxes and shopping bags and laundry baskets and open dresser drawers, Foxy loves to lie on any backpacks left on the floor……. #Caturday
Base (sunrise), middle, and summit of Pikes Peak. I grew up next to this mountain and am grateful to have spent several days soaking up its majestic beauty.
Just looking down from the balcony, observing the humans, and making lots of judgements. #Caturday
#SFN 2025 was a strange mix of inspiring and disheartening. Saw tons of amazing posters and talks - but the impact of gov attacks on science was also palpable. Was thrilled to present a #Glia #ECM symposium together with Dolores Irala, Anna Molofsky @annamolofskylab.bsky.social and Harry Sontheimer.
This is Harvey. He was brought to the rescue with an injury that left him missing part of his jaw. He is a messy eater but a sweet lap cat and deadly hunter. #resilience #caturday
The new titles absolutely erase whole groups of people. I can imagine how agonizing this was for the scientists who care deeply about improving health and equal access to quality healthcare for those specific groups of people.
Hey folks in CA - I heard NPR interview of Steve Hilton like 6mo ago and started following on X out of curiosity. WOW - very scary. Sounded reasonable on NPR but super inflammatory and mis-information spreading on X. Polls show he is pretty close behind Porter. How worried should we be about this?
I was inspired by the humor, creative flair, and passion that was on display at #NoKings all over the country. These are some favorite signs from the protest I attended.
