Always impressed when a supermarket hydrangea survives in my zone five garden. This cutie was from Trader Joe's, bought 3 years ago. First season to really flower.
BOOOOO @homedepot! This is the second time I've bought a bag of supposedly pastel colored gladiolus that turned out to be totally the wrong color! Red totally clashes with my pink and purple garden color scheme. not buying Glads from Home Depot again.
I made a peach cobbler with hot sugar crust today. Hope it tastes as yummy as it looks! Credit to @allrecipes www.allrecipes.com/fresh-peach-...
#gardening 🌱 Heavy rain knocked my peonies down. My daughter and my sis are coming this weekend I hope some bounce back 😭
#gardening 🌱 Blooming today, part 2 Weigela Clematis Some random bulb I bought in a grocery store Clematis/catmint/painted daisies cluster
#gardening 🌱 blooming today My peonies all popped! These were transplanted in Nov 2024 from a house I was selling. Still 4 or 5 other small plants (I divided as I transplanted) that haven't bloomed yet. "Transplanting in November" involved digging holes in your grass and hoping they make it.
#gardening 🌱 Blooming this week My other two lilacs which are not as amazing as my first boomerang lilac, but still pretty Grandma's purple irises Salvias Painted daisies that I grew from seed a couple years ago. First year with a big display.
🌱 Blooming today #Gardening Iris Flax My Monet weigela
#Gardening blooming today 🌱 Spanish bluebell Lilac Bachelor button amethyst in snow
#gardening 🌱 #hosta What animal does this?? Rips the hosts leaves off and just leaves them next to the plant. This is the second host this has happened to.
#gardening 🌱 Blooming yesterday: a crabapple (royal rain I think) a pink & white phlox, and a magenta saxifraga Got the last of my dahlias & annual seedlings in yesterday! Also the frogs are so loud (temps around 80)
I'm doing my part! I don't use fertilizer or weed killers on my lawn as I live near a lake. It's the survivor version of a lawn, and the grass isn't winning
#InflationIndicator I bought these green melamine chopsticks on Amazon last week and they were $6.99. And today they are $7.99. (I'm using them in a wooded area to mark spring blooming trilliums so I don't accidentally disrupt them once they are dormant.)
#gardening 🌱 New flowers this week: bleeding heart, phlox, and a teeny native wildflower
More first blooms - a red trillium, a pink primrose and lungwort with pink and purple flowers.
In general I don't like Canada geese, but this one is kinda cool. It's alone and I am not sure if it's one legged or if it's just standing with one leg tucked up. It's a vibe.
My pepper grinder is either haunted or watching me... every time I walk by the little red light goes on. (Yes. Obviously, electric salt and pepper grinders are very extra. Husband bought them. That's a different issue.)
#flowers 🌱 Third plant flowering of the season! A pasque flower
#gardening 🌱 #PlantFail Note to self. Stop planting tulips. honestly what were you thinking? I know the catalogues are seductive, but it does not grow that way in our yard/zone and if it would, the deer would eat it.
#gardening 🌱 Second plant flowering! Lungwort given to me by a friend This snow is some bullshit!
#flowers 🌱 First flowers of the season! Also showing some green: alliums, peonies, lungwort, Betony, Primrose, ladies mantle, bleeding hearts, sages, lupine, and the first couple sprouts of cone flowers, toad lily, hydrangeas, daylilies, irises, pasque flower, and false indigo.
On the plus side, DJT stock is at its 52 week low. (I get points for not pointing this out to my mom, who owns it. I think she bought in at 15, so she's only down 50%.... so far)
I know the world is burning but a small happiness... I like how my amaryllis looks like an alien right now, with two seed pods for eyes (how did it even get pollinated???) also might get a second bloom out of it. She bloomed over Xmas, and then I put her in a 60degree for a month.
We did DNA testing on this guy. Unsurprisingly, Staffordshire terrier and pointer were near the top, but it also said Chihuahua and chow. My vet said they are only broadly accurate, they don't have enough data for mutts to really get it right
