Lapsed influencer. Geordie (*VERY*). Arty. Amicable. Nice. Previously did football stuff for World Soccer, Guardian, Times, NY Times, adidas, Nike, Puma, BBC and many more. Does heaven wait, all heavenly, over the next horizon?
Loughrigg Fell, a quick half hour trot up from Ambleside, remains one of the best ‘bang for buck’ peaks in the UK. Stunning.
Some the best views I’ve had from a boozer, mind. I feel like Ted Moult*. (* one for the teenagers)
Having a difficult evening (à la Fawlty, don’t mention the score). Fun fact: I stayed in the building behind* this pint in ‘88. Recall it well because NUFC went down and battered Brighton at The Goldstone on my first night here 3-0. More significant because their plane hit serious trouble en route.
Not quite! One of multiple players back for preseason on the banks of The Weser…
Cracking the flags (slates?) in Cumbria today. An early start to get Roxy to a shady spot in Rothay Park for a bit play but it’s at the extreme end of the temperature scale now. No mountains today, kids. Anyway, good morning from Zeffs.
Genuinely thought I was hallucinating but there’s a bar halfway up Wansfell. It’s like Roger Moore’s Swiss Chalet. Entirely possible that I may have died.
Good afternoon from atop Wansfell. A balmy 28 degrees in Cumbria made for a challenging ascent, as did last night’s beers and this morning’s now regrettable full English. Anyway, that’s my preseason done. Howay the lads!
Whoever is doing Ancelotti’s ‘analysis’ is stealing a living. A quick phone call to *anyone* on Tyneside would have facilitated a prompt “ah wouldn’t dee that, bonny lad”. (screen grab via @greyeyemagpie.bsky.social)
