This new path between Passage and Monkstown is very pleasant. Noticed that the café in the former water tower in Passage is all boarded up. #Speirgorm
A lovely scenic flight for the Americans yesterday. Taking a break from all their troubles to do a bit of sightseeing. #speirgorm fr24.com/data/aircraf...
New pan for the BBQ. €3.35 in the Paella Pan shop beside the market in Valencia. Shop sold everything you needed for paella including massive gas burners. Pan was 3.90 in the tourist shop near the cathedral. #speirgorm
After a long absence the white van is back on the footpath. Wonder how it drives up on it. Puzzling. Any clues ? #Speirgorm
All of a sudden a particular writer bursts on the scene and has option everything. #Speirgorm
If by "today" one means at least 2017. People, if you like a picture enough then please credit the photographer or the original source rather than passing it off. (And that was a quick Google lens search). #Speirgorm
Some of the shop fronts in Valencia have interesting fonts. Here are a few spanning the decades. #Speirgorm
I took a picture of this celebratory bonfire being constructed by artisan bonfire builders using only the finest sustainable pallets, last year. Didn't feel in any bit concerned that the locals were unwelcoming. All that was missing was the stall for dishing out free tea and crumpets.
And that's us home in Cork A lovely evening for flying. Sunset views and a nice view of Cork Harbour. Here's hoping the kids didn't have any mad parties while we were away. #Speirgorm
Our chariot back to Cork. Pleasantly surprised that it's not a bus gate. #Speirgorm
Schiphol. Disembarking was so slow. Short walk to passport control and straight true. Didn't get to try this beer when I was on Texel. Also wanted bitterballen but, I kid you not, they were out of them. #Speirgorm
And here's the plane for Leg 1 to home. Our first time on Transavia - an airline that's very familiar to travellers through Schiphol. #Speirgorm
City Hall is free to visit. Nice little museum and chance to stand out on the balcony and proclaim a new era to the assembled citizenry. #Valencia #Speirgorm
Spanish rock, historical seminary and a building that looks straight out of Eur. #Valencia #Speirgorm
The museum of ceramics is free at the moment. Mainly full of over-decorated items but some XV century stuff as well. This room is a fine example of the exhuberance. Next door is another church that was Baroque-ified but you can still see the Gothic internals. #Speirgorm #Valencia
El Cortes Ingles has a nice rooftop self-service restaurant in their store on Calle Colon. Ideal opportunity to observe the Valencian skyline and the tangled web of cabling. The Valencian Paella was tasty. We also like the rosado from Navarre. #Speirgorm
Excellent audio guide and immersive video for this church - Real Parroquia de los Santos Juanes Valencia Parròquia de Sant Joan del Mercat. Unfortunately it shows that what was a beautiful gothic ribbed vaulted ceiling was baroque-ified. Also suffered from a fire in 1936. #Speirgorm #Valencia
The market in Valencia (they say it's modelled on The English Market) also has a QE2 fountain. #Speirgorm #Valencia
