Palestine, Iran, Lebanon must be free! Let's dance beneath the diamond sky With one hand waving free. No unsolicited DMs, please. Living in French Catalonia
I found this on my FB memories from 2018. Some people don't change! Trump as Buddha...
This reminds me - painfully - of my first day trekking in the foothills of the Himalayas. Made it to the top, though!
Jeremy was expelled because "Israel first" leader Keir Starmer didn't agree with his response on one aspect of the EHCR report. Jeremy's views haven't wavered over 40+ years as a parliamentarian. Starmer is a weathercock, Corbyn is a signpost.
Democracy is being eaten away by EU leaders & most EU countries' lapdogs... ... but yes, in my small city, life goes on. The RW mayoralty has beautified parts - but many small businesses have closed... But I chose Catalonia for good reason! Chin up, dear nurse; your work matters 🙏
Thanks for this. Travelling through Morocco in 2015/16, I noted that street lights were individually serviced by small solar panels. I've also seen a vid - sponsored, I think - that Morocco had enormous solar panel fields to supply electricity not only to its own country, but also to Spain...
Thanks. I greatly admire Chris Hedges and Antony Loewenstein - two deeply knowledgeable and moral journalists. A truly informative, shocking, deeply disturbing, yet unsurprising investigation of Israel's surveillance tech - and its worldwide reach. It's as if Refaat's was a death foretold…
That's disgusting. On the Mediterranean island of Crete, the German invasion cost many lives... but, with Crete supported by allied forces, the Germans paid a greater price. Post-war, Cretans went to the mountains to retrieve their remains - to bury in one of the most serene spaces I've visited.
The Bean in calmer times (that's me in the sunlight, taking the pic).
The capitalist free market system Six rich white American men play Monopoly on the bent backs of the oppressed brown/black people whose work made them rich.
The Drax Estate in Dorset (built from profits from sugar plantations) is walled and guarded.
Lovely. I lived ten mins from Hampstead Heath. Here's Gospel Oak at about the same time of day
Re slave reparations discussed in this podcast: The state shouldn't pay; but the descendants of slave traders/owners/plantations who have profited from slavery (and still do) should pay a hypothecated tax. Sir Richard Drax still profits from his family's sugar plantation. This is his Dorset home.
It's beautiful. A good photo taken against the sun using a camera with a scratched lens...
I spent a wonderful day at the Arles Arts complex, transformed from a destitute industrial site by architect Frank Gehry. Having visited the Judy Chicago retrospective exhibition, I went to the nearest loo/restroom:
Corporations kills rainforests; corporations invent "carbon capture" installations... 🙄
@powderriver737.bsky.social Love your banner photo! Reminds me of this, taken in 2011
Won't be long before Musk is living in a mountain with a white cat and a pool of sharks...
So, a year after his alleged thought crime, he has been arrested, and his home ransacked by the police. We need to sit up and take notice, chaps! "First they came...
Her blue outfit for her husband's first inauguration was gorgeous.
Fabulous start to the year, Geneva 👏🙏 My train of thought... Remember those old maps which indicated unchartered waters/lands with "There be dragons"?
Please don't tell the murderers about French bathroom signs - they'll all be coming over here 🙃
