LOOK WHAT WE GOT! S6, E5.5 (Witches' Edition, pt. 2) The Witchcraft of Salem Village is a children's book by Shirley Jackson, better known as the author of The Lottery, and of The Haunting of Hill House. I didn't even know she wrote children's books, but it makes sense that she wrote this one.

SPAAACE! is being trained on the register. He has great customer service skills, but it gets awkward when he tries to make change bc he doesn't have thumbs. it's also awkward when he tries to add things up & take card payments bc he's a cat He DOES have a great purrs-for-skritches exchange rate 😺

I normally take a month after Bookfest for a full store reset and to recharge my batteries. This year, I closed for about a week and a half. I'm doing this year's reset in small bites instead of one big chunk...but first, I need to finish post Bookfest restocking. I'm already almost there! whew

We tried, but couldn't set out most of our crime fiction books, which is a shame...we have some pretty good ones! We also still have this copy of Lone Wolf, and the Ballantine Books edition of Merlin's Ring from H. Warner Munn, featuring Gervasio Gallardo's iconic cover art.

This weekend is a SOFT OPEN. We're still putting away some of the books that didn't make it onto our Bookfest shelves. For example, we still have these campy crime novels from George Baxt, whose Pharoah Love is believed to be the first canonically gay detective in fiction.

~~ WE'RE BACK, BAYBEE ~~ We had a wonderful time at Bookfest. Thank you to everyone who showed up ^_^ Although we restocked as quickly as we could, LOTS of the books we brought never made it to the table...but that means we now have some amazing new-to-us books for our in-store shoppers!
