Time to roll out this slide again (from my council deputation supporting the Dufferin bus lanes but equally applicable to active transportation infrastructure).
Also, since @juliedabrusin.bsky.social's account hasn't posted in 9 months, maybe write directly to the Minister? Seems like a good time to do it. [The "clear accessible facts" was a line from her office's generic reply about having a "conversation" about the island airport]
Things I did NOT expect to hear from Ontario‘s Minister of Agriculture under a PC government:https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/canada-farmland-carney-food-security-strategy-young-farmers-9.7266016
You absolutely, literally, can. Have you NEVER SEEN AN ELECTRIC ASSIST BICYCLE?
Normally I'd agree, but the split between her and Norm in the last election was 123 votes, and I don't think she's solidified her position particularly well among the progressive votes. Her resistance to the RapidTO plan feels like a weakspot to me.
Yeah, but they didn't shut it down because the water going IN was too hot. It was to protect the surrounding environment to avoid discharging water that was too hot. This was a regulatory limit, not a tech limit. www.euronews.com/2026/06/25/f...
It’s 1974, the Govt announces a HSR project of national importance during an oil crisis. There are protests against Alto & TGV. It’s 2026, the Govt announces a HSR project of national importance… Consultation needs to avoid past errors but we KNOW what the future can look like & it’s pretty sweet.
So, I may have ended up at a textile museum in France, and got to see some mechanized looms in action! Gotta work this into my “AI and the law“ presentation @bcmerchant.bsky.social
I'm not saying the Pope somehow got a copy of an article I'm having published soon, but....
Looks like the Pope would be against data brokers @lisalevesque.bsky.social
Fun fact, using purple carrots will make your matzoh ball soup look very spooky, and fancy.
I use a version of this when talking to lawyers about gen 'AI'. You should want more than vague marketing hype or anecdotal stories about "efficiencies" or improved practice. Instead I'm the one showing up with the studies and examples of why it's going to make you a bad lawyer if you're uncritical.
If only there was some form of document that demonstrated that the bike lanes on University were specifically supported by healthcare workers...oh wait, there is.
Love this. I literally just came from a meeting where someone said, "Well maybe it's because I wasn't prompting it well enough..." and, BAM, look what's in the executive summary:
Pray for @adambecker.bsky.social and the aneurysm he’s about to have. www.cbc.ca/news/science...
The response I got from @juliedabrusin.bsky.social's office when I asked, "what are you planning to do about this?" and "doesn't this undermine your HSR plan?" and "wont this undermine planned affordable housing development and environmental efforts?" was incredibly disappointing.
