💙📚🪐🐉🌶️⚡🔍 Books I finished reading in July. Building 903 by Lois Lowry #SFF seems very timely. I may be getting burned out on romance or possibly, the direction it is taking focusing more on the physical than the emotional is just not my cup of tea.
💙📚🪐🐉 New #SFF shelf at Out West Books. Sold one before I finished getting them all up there and then 2 more before the end of my shift. Glad we had more copies.
The last couple weeks have been way too busy. We made a quick road trip, had 3 different sets of house guests, volunteered at movie fundraiser for fire dept. and got to have a conversation with Perrin Pring author of Cash and Gravity at a full capacity author event at Out West Books. #SFF 💙📚🪐
💙📚🪐🐉 Never got around to posting last weeks new releases on the Out West Books #SFF new books shelf. There were only a couple.
💙📚🪐 #SFF I'm currently rereading Cash and Gravity. Perrin Pring is going to be at Out West Books in Grand Junction tomorrow and I get to talk with her about her fabulous debut novel. Trying to not go full on fan girl but totally excited.
💙📚🪐🐉 New #SFF books shelf at Out West Books. Dead but Dreaming of Electric Sheep and Moss'd in Space came out last week but there was room. Moss'd in Space is one of the books I can't stop suggesting to folks because it is in the running for my favorite SF book of the year.
Romances, mysteries, and thrillers rounded out the month. I stayed way too long in several other books that I did not finish and are not listed.
💙📚🪐🐉 #SFF New releases on the Science Fiction & Fantasy shelves at Out West Books. Loved Moss'd in Space, Valet, and Obstetrix. Haven't read the other new ones, yet.😊
💙📚 #SFF Obstetrix by Naomi Kritzer is an unputdownable scary near future thriller. It came out earlier this month and like the best dystopian fiction it feels all to real and possible. It didn't strike me as SF at all because the cult that kidnaps Dr. Liz is quite possibly already out there.
💙📚🪐🐉 #SFF I love new book Tuesdays. Moss'd in Space by Rebecca Thorne comes out today. It is my current SF fave; great characters, new worlds, and wonderful escapism. I'll be at Out West Books today handselling it.
💙📚🪐🐉 #SFF Yesterday's new SFF bookshelf at Out West Books. Not so many new releases this week but happy Hemlock & Silver by T. Kingfisher is now out in paperback. I liked The Traveler by Joseph Eckert. Great "what if" about being cast forward in time further and further each time. Compelling.
💙📚🪐🐉 #SFF It has been a very busy week and I didn't get the Out West Books new science fiction and fantasy shelf posted on Tuesday as it should have been. The only one I've read is The Traveler and it is well worth the read. It's great on "what if."
#SFF 💙📚 Jane Yolen, whose books and stories introduced fantasy and science fiction to so many is now gone. Over many decades her tales enriched lives with magic and wonder. She will be so missed. Sympathy and love to her family and loved ones.
#SFF ? 💙📚🪐 Trying to figure out how Obstetrix by Naomi Kritzer (Tordotcom) is SF. I loved the book with its terrific suspense, survival, feminist, & thriller aspects. It is written by a Hugo winning author and published by a house known for SF. Would like to know what you think. Science fiction?

💙📚🪐🐉🌶️⏳⚡ #SFF Books I finished reading in May. Lots of great titles. Only one that I did not love but wanted to find out what happened and know some readers who will love it. Science fiction seems to be having a renaissance which thrills me. Also seeing great SF authors writing non-SF books.
💙📚🪐🐉 New #SFF at Out West Books today. I totally loved Cash and Gravity by Perrin Pring. Cash and Gravity is a near future SF, kick-ass road trip through the West with a big brawny woman marine, a male Ace (elite soldiers known for their advantages of being small, talented, smart, and beautiful) ⬇️
💙📚🪐🐉 #SFF Today's new releases on my favorite shelf at Out West Books. Just finished reading Palaces of the Crow by Ray Nayler. Amazing! Made me think of a couple of my favorite corvid books including deLint's Crow Girls and Science Comics: Crows.
💙📚🪐 #SFF Generally, not a fan of books written by writers who have MFAs but VALET was listed as science fiction so I gave it a try and loved it. Cy, the main character, reminded me of C-3PO & the delightful Automatic Noodle characters. Look for it in your favorite library or indie book store June 2.
💙📚🪐🐉 #SFF New books shelf at Out West Books today. I ended up talking books for 4 1/2 hours today and ran out of Sarah Beth Durst books, sold out of Murder by Memory again.
💙📚🪐 #SFF Scott Treder's life is upended when he suddenly finds himself in the next day. Each disappearance is twice as long as the previous one, but he only has one day until it happens again. This hit all the "what if" and inexplicable events that make science fiction a favorite genre. 6/9/26 pub
💙📚🪐🐉 Big new release day today at Out West Books. Lot's of great fantasy and the newest Murderbot. Had a blast talking to several #SFF readers who came in. Keep selling out on all copies of Infinity Gate, Murder by Memory, & All Systems Red.

I am getting behinder and behinder every day. Weren't many new #SFF releases at Out West books on Tuesday. I did read Paradox published by Forge not Tor and it is more thriller but the second in the series with the first def SF. Want to read Thistlemarsh and Honor & Heresy. 🔍💙📚🪐🐉
The world is full of weirdness. After sighting a group of jackrabbits, got home and logged in to look up collective noun for them and a post from @bunnyjadwiga.bsky.social , actually a share about looking something up popped up. Hares are solitary critters and seeing a bunch of them was rare.
💙📚 Thrilled this is hitting bookstores in paperback tomorrow. It is quirky, humorous, heartfelt, and immensely satisfying. Bizarrely fascinating. You just can't beat a father daughter roadtrip with recently acquired orphans across the country and a cat that may be a harbinger of death.
