Meet Murray: so desperate for friends that he will pretend to have friends to make himself seem more attractive to people who might some day agree to become a new friend. The fact that he's 8'2" doesn't help anything.

Meanwhile, the top of Steve's head inexplicably has a generic plastic building block nub. For years his parents thought they'd birthed a weird onion creature, but no, that's just how he looks. Nobody knows why he refuses to wear a hat - perhaps he gets off on the attention? He's clearly not wearing pants in this comic, so that's entirely possible, and a little bit gross.

In the first panel, Murray asks Steve where he's from. It's unclear who's visiting whom, or whether that's the correct usage of the word 'whom' at all (it is). Maybe Steve is visiting from afar. Maybe the reason Murray has no friends because he's the type of person who asks someone in a place he's visiting where they're from. Either way, Steve is from Toronto.

In the second panel, Murray reveals he doesn't know geography and asks where Toronto is, as if there are more than one of them. Steve humours him (note the Canadian 'humours') and confirms he's from the Toronto in Ontario, Canada, being the one that exists.

In the third panel, Murray fulfils the promise of the narrator by pretending to have a friend in Canada named Matt. Matt is always the name of Murray's imaginary friends, because both names begin with M and he has no creativity. Steve, exhausted with the trope of everyone in Canada knowing each other, pretends not to understand English and asks if Murray knows French. A silly ploy, since they've been speaking English so far, but Murray seems like the kind of fellow who might fall for it.

In the fourth panel, Murray says he doesn't speak Spanish. Is he trying to be funny? Does he really not know that French and Spanish are different languages? We will never know. Steve, done with the conversation, calls Matt an asshole. Nobody wins this conversation. The audience loses.

Today I was randomly watching the music video for Circus, by Britney Spears, and I'm pretty sure I spotted some kind of production markings. The frame before this one there's a similar marking on the right. They're easy to see at 0.25x speed. Has anyone else ever noticed this before?

I'm now firmly in the camp of this being a false flag attack specifically so he could make the argument that building his ballroom is a national security issue, because SCOTUS has told him he's not allowed to have it if it's not one.

Trump said this was "not a particularly secure building." He then said that the episode underscored why the White House needed beefed-up security and its own ballroom.

I recently remembered I have this, charged it up, and gave it an open. It still runs! Unfortunately, despite only being opened in January, 2019, and then not again until today, the LCD screen is yellowing. Does anyone know how to fix that without taking it apart? @cyan.com @cyanworlds.bsky.social

I just tried posting my #vss365 entry for today as a reply in my story thread. Twice. Both times the post seemingly went through, but it doesn't appear in the thread. When I try to open either of them, I get a "Post not found" page. What's up with that? Is there some unknown maximum thread length?
