It’s been a while but it’s #wipwednesday! This idea was born in the gc and I’m so excited to write it. Lucius sets Stede up on a terrible blind date, except does he really if the date isn’t actually with the shitty guy you’re meeting? It’s with his boss and neither of you know you’re being set up?

Stede is on what may possibly be the worst blind date of his entire life. Never mind that it’s the first blind date of his entire life. It may actually be the worst blind date in the entire world. Never has there been a worse blind date than this. Stede is positive of that.
Stede surreptitiously glances down at his watch. God, it’s only been five minutes.
The man across from him is sour-faced and even more sour-tempered. When Stede had walked up to the table, he had given Stede a scowling once-over and asked, “What the fuck are you wearing?”
Stede had been so taken aback he’d snapped back, “Something with a little imagination, which you clearly are sorely lacking,” grimacing at the man’s all-black ensemble, without a spare thought for whether he might be coming off a little bitchy.

What the hell had Lucius been thinking when he’d set Stede up on this date? For god’s sake, his exact words had been, “I swear, Stede, this guy’s perfect for you. Like, actually so perfect. So perfect that I just know you’re gonna marry him.” Stede never wants to even think about Izzy again, much less marry the man. What on earth had ever given Lucius the idea that this would be a good match? Like, really for real, Stede is actually a little offended that Lucius thought this would work.
Well, he’s going to regret this. He is absolutely going to have some explaining to do, after Stede wrings his neck.

wipes his hands on his pants—black leather, Stede notes, and very high quality too. And the way they’re slung low on his hips… Stede forces himself to look up, only to be stunned completely by his eyes, big and brown and soulful and framed by long lashes.
“Saw you talking to Izzy. So, you’re not, like, his boyfriend or anything?”
“Fuck, no,” Stede says adamantly before remembering that this man apparently owns the coffeeshop where Izzy works, and so probably knows Izzy and maybe likes him, somehow. “Sorry. I’m sure he’s…fine. Once you get to know him.”
The man chuckles and Stede’s stomach flips at the sound. “Don’t be. He’s a fucking nightmare.”
“Oh. Well, all right then. Apology rescinded.” The man grins at him and Stede feels his own lips turning up in response. His hair is long. Curly. Looks incredibly soft. Stede crosses his arms to keep his hands from reaching out like they’re itching to do, desperately wanting to push a wayward lock back into place. Or muss his hair up more. Stede isn’t sure which. “So, you noticed me in there?”
His smile widens. “Oh yeah, I noticed you. Couldn’t help but notice you.”
“In a good way, I hope?”
His eyes drop to slowly inch their way up Stede’s body. He can feel his cheeks flushing at the appreciation in the man’s eyes. “Definitely in a good way. But how good?” He lifts a shoulder in a shrug. “Yet to be determined.”

Okay so like everyone else I’ve been playing @paralives.com and I really want to practice building and get more creative and I’m soooooo proud of this bookshelf sofa thing I made with 2 full-size bookshelves and 2 shorter bookshelves and some other wall shelves and a plank and it is *so* cute 🥰

“What would I do?” Stede asks, voice low, just above a whisper to he heard over the soft lapping of the waves. “If I didn’t do what was expected of me?”

Ed’s breathing heavily, his heart flying beneath his ribs. “Whatever you want.”

Stede’s eyes are fire, hypnotizing and hot. Dangerous, if he’s not careful. “And where would I go?”

Ed swallows. “Anywhere.”

Stede cocks his head and Ed gets the distinct impression that that wasn’t the answer Stede was looking for. His suspicion is confirmed when Stede asks, “And what if I don’t want to go…*’anywhere?’*”

Ed wants to say it, is *desperate* to say it, but it feels too big. It feels like something that might swallow him up. A tidal wave that might crash over him and sweep him away. He thinks he might like to be swept away, though, if it’s Stede doing the sweeping.

Ed’s voice is just a whisper. “Then don’t go.”
