this little freak keeps rubbing his face all over my shoes as soon as I take them off
submitted a little mackerel guy for this. I wanted to do a wacky siphonophore design too, but I procrastinated and ran out of time teehee...
The President's Cake: Uses a coming of age story about a young girl tasked with baking a cake for Saddam Hussein's birthday to show the insidious corruption affecting all levels of Iraqi society during the 1990s. The last scene shouldn't have been surprising, but it still hit me pretty hard.
Virgin Machine: Saw this right after By Design, and while I didn’t vibe with it as much, I did appreciate the snapshot into SF lesbian life in the 80s. Also I gotta find out more about that lesbian sax band.
By Design: Saw this as a free preview at the IFC Center, and enjoyed it more than I expected! I loved how casually absurd everything was; the physical comedy and off kilter tone really worked for me.
The Apothecary Diaries Season 2: Man… I really enjoyed everything with Maomao and Shisui during the last arc; the Maomao/Shisui/Xiaolan trio was a lot of fun, too. Jinshi deserves some kind of Sisyphean/Promethean punishment. Put him in the device. Put him in the contraption.
Amsterdam: Trying to be a quirky, heartfelt comedy, but it just completely missed the mark for me. Actually (spoilers), seeing that replay of Taylor Swift getting run over was pretty funny.
Megalopolis: Thinks it’s really smart and insightful, but it’s stupid as hell. Lotta bizarre acting/editing choices. Cesar never actually comes across as intelligent/competent as the film wants us to believe he is. Also p funny that his utopian city looks like an expansion of the fucking Vessel.
oops, actually page 1 needs another sticker to replace the old info at the top about the nycicewatch instragram, here's another cropped sticker for that:
here's the image I used for the sticker (2 copies) + another sticker for pg 2. if u have a phomemo thermal printer that can take 77mm paper, u can flip the images 90 degrees and they'll come out at just the right size. you'll have to experiment with resizing them if u have a different printer ofc.
I think stickers could work, actually! I just printed this out using my tiny thermal printer, and even though you can still kinda see the old text underneath, the new sticker text is clear and legible, and QR code is scannable
🫡 printed out a bunch of these in English and Spanish so I can leave a few every time I take the subway
