Loons kept the status quo and didn’t kick the ball into the net and did not win. Futi’s “Deserved win” numbers were kind and need some work/review. No apparent offensive philosophy, ideas, creativity. Whole lotta experience in that FO and on that coaching bench for just kickball. #MNUFC
Loons match rating is 44 points better than the March meeting, and the scoreboard shows it. Not sure where or how they score. Part of this team’s appeal, I guess. #MNUFC
Lineup shuffles are fine, but this still feels like a huge task ahead. #MNUFC
FSeattle is working hard to join the sludge at the bottom of the Western Conference standings. The fall is gonna be a grinding painful watch.
I guess Don spoke yesterday before the TOR-MTL match, and the marketing plan is apparently great. Boats and newbies and stuff. Whenever I want to earn someone's trust, I be sure to do it as they're walking out the door. frontofficesports.com/newsletter/m...
Download it, #MNUFC stats nerds. I learned DJ Taylor’s full name and which surprise-to-me Loon leads the team in ‘Phases lost.’ It’s like Fotmob and some of the xG accounts had a makeout session, but better.
Allianz will be an angry house tonight, and not because James won’t add shirt sales & mostly-productive 30-minute shifts after. The ‘26 ‘pids are badge-wearing, admittedly dirty players. Prob worse than the ‘18 Pebbles (Google remembers). Loons persevere though. It’a an ugly 3 points, 2-1. #MNUFC
Loons kindly added a visual home for my running “Best Loons” file in my Notes app. Pretty firm, easy to pick tbh Triantis could jump Dotson and Arriaga before he moves to Europe. Diaz, Romero close, as well. #MNUFC
No James in the S11, but a 2H shift feels likely. Expecting a fun one! #MNUFC
Loons outplayed LOLFC, but the final actions were largely blah. Maybe GAM buys you xG, but you have to spend real $ for goals. 🤷♂️ Just a bad finishing day. Again. Eager to someday see James + Pereyra + Chanca + Gene in the midfield. One can dream… #MNUFC
Hungry Martinez made 1 brilliant run; otherwise the visitors were mostly LOLFC. Loons need a lot more from Dieng, Yeboah, Triantis. Just not in sync, not good enough. James had a great 45 - he’s looking for the right runner, who is probably on the bench, tbh. #MNUFC
Two of these three will be tasked with a fair amount of defensive duty. 😬 No Son for LAFC, though. Big opp for the Loons; key minutes for depth players. #MNUFC
17 pts from 9 for this group should garner more attention than it will. 3 Loons who didn’t earn 7+ from Fotmob played like it (Cam’s changes were spot on lol). Duncan had a much better 2H, as #MNUFC settled into a 5-4-1 after the ~70m changes. Held a 54-46 edge in poss before then, too.
Sideline highlight: Cam politely declines one of Eric Quill’s baseball caps (quiet Kiwi accent after the exchange: “Bit of a dag, that”), and they remain friendly. On the field, Musa’s a monster, but the Loons play well on the road again. Good run continues in a 1-1 draw. #MNUFC
As our pundit friends like to say, Fitz's underlying MLS numbers predicted the pasture. Just bullied.
Next game up / Forget it and move on / Eyes on the … but tough to forget this stretch.
I was replying to this specific post - no home/away reference here, just inferred in the scoreline.
