I agree, I think it's part of the insane far right bullshit that's taken over the government. We have a pedo president and here they're asking to crack down on sex toys or whatever. Some chat I was just doing about cons and fandom and regulation. It's a lot.

In case it isn't painfully obvious, do not give money or support to anyone or anything having to do with @furhavencon.bsky.social. "First convention will be free" means their account is run by either a child, or a person who has never run anything real and doesn't even understand how to do that.

From comments by the veteran group. They could have known to beware if they saw the work already done to lay out a situation of deep discredit. Don't buy PR about new management when founders are dirty. A con that shares staff and support with Mare Fair is one to beware, or risk getting burned.
From the comments, I learned that there's a small but multiplying contingent for costuming at these shows, and some of the bands love it. Awesome. Targeting people for not wearing jeans and a band shirt is conformist bullshit.
