I’m just some random person doing random things. A fan of all things generally geeky. A fan of random projects, a hobbyist photographer, and a wildlife enthusiast. Anti-fascist, like all my people before me.
Taking advantage of a beautiful afternoon before the heat wave. A serene scene…just to the side of a busy jogging path, the dog park section, and hundreds of other people on the green just out of frame. Meanwhile, I’m walking loops and sweating through my shirt. Not so serene. #Paris #photography
Getting an extra loop of walking in just getting to the park today. Some sort of bicycle race happening… :D I’m so uncultured. Heh. #Paris #photography
Missed connections. You - Medium sized 3/4 cinnamon black bear, searching for a snack. Me - Late 40s outdoorsman and camera enthusiast, checking my trail cams. An old, but fun series of pics on one of the CO trail cams. Much less spooky than the big cat near miss pics. #photography #wildlife
What’s in your bag? Do we still do this? Well, the answer is TOO MUCH. I’m all packed for a class museum trip tomorrow morning. Camera, parasol, glasses cases, all the cool things that a cool person has…toilet paper…hand sanitizer…sunblock… ALL THE COOL THINGS! #photography #Paris
On its last day, la canicule stared at me as it slowly disappeared, menacingly quoting Arnold in Terminator. Turns out it wasn’t bluffing. It will be back. We have until the weekend to prepare. I have one more fan, and a huge, reflective tarp for the skylight now. #Paris #photography
What a strange looking tree. Friday while walking to class. The bus schedule was affected by the heat wave, so I had to hoof it to make it on time. At least most of the walk is in the shade, and the view is pretty nice too. #Paris #photography
It’s 9:20pm and it has finally cooled down to 94F (34.4C). Had to get put of the superheated apartment. I opted for another amazing dinner at Bistro D’Yves and a nightcap at Le Valentin. Not too shabby. #Paris #photography #food
Sorry all, no more pics with the rings. You had two years to get a shot. I bet it was scheduled for removal in 2024. Just French bureaucracy in real time… Bus stop pics #Paris #photography
Is it love? At our desks, working on our computers, staring at our screens, not correcting each other’s posture. #Paris #photography
The morning routine. Waiting for the bus. Nice and cool, unlike the afternoon return trip. #Paris #photography
Latin Quarter - details from a church. NGL, I get church fatigue. Maybe it’s from too many church tours as a tourist. Maybe it’s from the nuns hitting me with yardsticks in school. Good times. I still try to find some interesting photos while I’m in one. #Paris #photography
Latin quarter street art. Invading your space. Another shot from our class walkabout in the Latin Quarter. #Paris #photography #streetart
Latin quarter street art. Another pic of other people’s art from our class walk through the Latin Quarter. #Paris #photography #streetart
Latin Quarter Art Went on walkabout for our class today and I decided to take my camera. These are my two favorite artsy shots from today. Yes, they’re mostly just pics of other people’s art, but isn’t that what most of my Paris pics are anyway? Enjoy! #Paris #photography
Songs in the wild. The Supremes. Same song twice in one photo. Well, there’s my ear worm for the day. Can you hear it too? #Paris #photography
Cloudy Parisian Morning Such a nice change in weather, after last week’s heat wave. Morning espresso and croissant are done. Time to head to class. #Paris #photography
Fucking incredible. They’re making me homesick here. I’m not crying, I swear. It’s just the hot peppers. Sergent Garcia paid off big time. I’ll be back again and again. And I still haven’t stopped bumping from the soundtrack here. Tacos x3, gyoza, silver blond beers. #Paris #photography #food
Sergent Garcia (north in the 8e near Parc Monceau) If the music here is any hint, I’ve found a new favorite place. Of course I seek out authentic Latin cuisine in Paris, lol. I’m trés traditional. I await tacos, bumpin’ to Big Poppa. I’ll let you know how it turns out. #Paris #photography #food
Les Demoiselles dans le 17em. Great food with a great soundtrack and ambience. Classic and modern jazz, mixed with pop - right up my alley. Always a great spot to add a new album or two to my vinyl want list. Only negative was I got a stain on one of my good aloha shirts. #Paris #food #photography
Paris apartment life… Two of the eight bins we had to put out to catch leaks from the ceiling during the recent rainstorm. It makes sense though. I was about finished repairing or replacing every single appliance in the place. What else was I going to do with all my spare time? #Paris
Just a view from the morning bus stop. Nothing fancy. ;) I was digging the foggy and cooler days last week. Even the rain was nice (not enough to make the roof leak again, lol). Time to find a boulangerie that’s not closed for the holiday. #Paris #photography
At least the view is nice. It was a frustrating first week of class. And now trying to reschedule a missed delivery is proving difficult to say the least. It must be easy being a company with no available points of contact for customers… #Paris #photography
One from the bus, and one at the bus stop. A brisk morning for the second day of class. Of course I had mild stress dreams last night of being in college and forgetting my class schedule. Good times. It’s nothing at all like that Dangerfield documentary “Back to School”. #Paris #photography
First day of school pics. Croissant and espresso from the usual place. Then a quick, bad pic from the stop where I switch busses every morning. Not too shabby. French class melted my brain a bit though. First day immersion is rough. Self-soothing with wine and dinner. #Paris #photography
