Dude in The Atlantic: Drinking booze is cool bc research on health effects of drinking is subject to confounders. Also Atlantic Dude: Americans have stopped drinking & they‘re turning into weird hermits who don’t go out with anyone. This is definitely a causal relationship!

Been reading this to prepare for a mini side-hustle as an assistant XC coach, and here are my takeaways so far: 1. Body dysmorphia & eating disorders were everywhere in 90s culture & they were pretty intense on Wetmore’s ‘98 team. It’s subtle, but it’s definitely there.
Good news: Making actual gains w/ squats, lunges, and hinges/deadlifts added to the running routine. Bad news: I just did this to my all-time favorite pair of jeans:

A nice cruise down memory lane w/the teenager today. Used to ride this trail every weekend w/friends in grad school. Bonus: Jack rode the red Rock Hopper in the pic, which I originally bought w/my paper route money when I was about his age!

The other day, our gate was left ajar & Summer (my border collie) decided to venture out & make friends w/a passing german shepherd. I sprang from my seat, donut in hand, to retrieve her. We got settled back in the yard & I couldn’t find my donut *anywhere*. Fast forward to our driveway the next day
*squeals with excitement* love love love the new Kacey record! Favorite tracks so far are Uncertain, TX (great Willie feature + lots of cowbell), I Believe in Ghosts (😢), Rhinestoned (it’s like High Horse & Neon Moon had a baby), Hell on Me (😢😢), and Back on the Wagon (strong Loretta vibes)
The world is a pretty dark place rn, but these lads would like to remind you that da moon still rulz
