Ooh boy. That's an indictment of CENTCOM and what exactly one wages war for. And a big misread of what war termination looks like and that it's about causing pain, rather than relating that to strategy and political ends. And one also assumes that the ideas are just going to be more war crime.
I had a blast playing Shadowrun on (my buddy's) Sega. I still stand by my opinion that an open-world Shadowrun game with engine and graphics like Red Dead Redemption or GTA would sell.
Well, the marketing people got to it, trying to sell it on home media as the "smartest sci-fi since Blade Runner."
This something govt should be cracking down on a bit? The past week+ I've been getting a lot of spam calls that are probably scams, but it's robodialing. It's something that should be done.

So a couple of days ago, I finally got a Kickstarter-backed set of comic reprints of the Terminator comics. Aside from thanks @dynamitecomicshq.bsky.social , it did get me to thinking about maybe a changing nature of fandom related to IPs that were sustained between movies by a wholw ecosystem.
The use of grok in the initial air campaign is...well, actually explains quite a bit and really raises a lot of questions in targeting and target verifcation. One can imagine grok generating hallucinations based on outdated, incomplete, or non-existent data that look legit as targets.
That point 7 on the sanctions is such a giveaway. Obligating the US to work in terminating all sanctions, including UNSC and IAEA, i.e., non-US sanctions, is a major obligation, and invites quedtions on whether more limited sanctions relief, e.g., US only sanctions, was possible.
I tend to think the quiz has bad phrasing and probably doesn't have enough choices related to the military and FP that lack nuance, which is probably why I ended up as I did. Like there are questions about offense that don't seem to be out of a vacuum that don't seem to understand civility as tool
I feel less happy to be hitting my mid-40s within the next couple of weeks.

Triple creme Brie. It goes nicely on bagels from the toaster. I do miss all the brie and brie-like cheeses available at the grocieries when I lived in Germany, though.

Wish they'd had the graphic in the story. Also, at least the version of JP 3-60 I looked at had the legal concerns and considerations relegated to an appendix, which seems questionable.
The second book (and in the Compendium) was GI Joe #29. It's great by Larry Hama, but also has some tonal clashes, as it goes from US military people doing military things, intercut with something of a political rally where convincing Americans to cheat on their taxes is held up as a movement good.
The two issues I got were a Batman comic from the 70s where Batman encounters The Shadow ("who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of me") that was supposed to spin off a Shadow series for DC. It was okay; makes the Shaow look competent & why one would want (?) to read a Shadow comic series.
Still trying to pick tonight's feature, either Naked Gun (the original) or Airplane. In the meantime, I picked up the GI Joe Conpendium which issues 1-50 of Larry Hama's Marvel run from the 80s.
And they did! I've a co-worker who's a Sox fan (boo, hiss) and a co-worker who's a big Cubs fan (yeah!). Guess Monday's going tp be interesting.
