Great post day from lovely film friends. Postcard and zine from @maureenbond.bsky.social And a loaner from @blackeyeddog.bsky.social a Corfield Periflex and Lumax lens.
Photowalk ready. #shittycamerachallenge t-shirt, Lomo and a Nikon. Walk starts at two but I need to get into London first for train to Brighton
We were inspired by this colour in Denis Severs house in spittlefields
At west dean in Bloomsbury today doing a one day Japanese stab binding course.
In the background you can can see what our walls are changing too. Here's a better photograph. The wall colour is pinker than it looks and the ceiling is more red pink.
The insulation is 100% wool which has been treated with borax to stop it getting eaten by moths. Smells great, and is nice to handle as not itchy like glass fibre or rockwool
Before photos. Fireplace surround was added in 90's. Original 1870's fireplace was plainer. Brick with arched top. We are switching this room from dining room to our living room. The living room currently at the front is noisy as only 3m from passing traffic. Which is annoying and upsets dogs.
Bit more done. All my new work is level. Trying to get the transition to the wonky floor is tricky.
Back on DIY. Concrete dried nicely. Two joists added to bridge the old chimney breast. Third joist out had dirt banked up on it to hold old slate hearth so it was rotten. So it's out now. Floorboards were happy previously so have trimmed a straight edge across.
Some printmaking. Taking plasticine, moulding of found texture. Then inking up.
Ten years ago we had a Normandy/Belgium roadtrip. I was lucky to have Westvleteren 12 at the abbey visitor centre cafe. Lovely beer, not paying what the scalpers on eBay are asking though.
Popped out without the family for some photography and before the crowds
Slide film in the Pentax again. Have to shoot this hydrangea withit too.
Well completely misjudged how much concrete mix needed. The one bag did 3/4 of one side. Needs another three 20kg bags I would say.
