Multiple ICE vehicles were reported at the Quarry tonight so I went down there and saw so many observers out answering the call and keeping people safe. Tomorrow is Election Day and we’re going to go make our voice heard and protect one another while exercising our right to vote.
Let’s remind people to vote! Join me, @engy5150.bsky.social, School Board Director Abdul Abdi and Team Peggy on Saturday Aug 8 at 10AM. Sign up here to learn the location: www.mobilize.us/mobilize/eve...
Join me for door knocking this weekend! We kickoff Saturday (Aug 1) at 10AM and Noon in Northeast. Register here for the exact location: www.mobilize.us/mobilize/eve... @peggyflanagan.bsky.social @cedrickfrazier.bsky.social @ilhanmn.bsky.social @keithellison.bsky.social
On this steamy Minnesota day, reminding people to vote and have conversations with neighbors is much more comfortable in apartments! Proud to hit the campaign trail with Cedric Frazier! @cedrickfrazier.bsky.social
Happy pride! State Senator Scott Dibble organizes the Queer Caucus float every year and we look better than ever! Remember, Pride is a protest and a loud way to say that all are welcome in Minnesota.
Happy Pride! And we can be even more proud of how Minneapolis makes policy that strengthens our values - thanks to @jchavezmpls.bsky.social’s leadership, Minneapolis is even more loudly saying that the 2SLGBTQIA+ community respected, welcomed, and needed here. Thank you CM Jason Chavez!
Found in Windom Park in Northeast Minneapolis: colorful bricks that the young artist shared were being colored to celebrate Pride. Happy Pride!
This crew of DFLers is ready to march down Central Ave NE for the Celebrate Northeast Parade!
Congrats to the Edison athletes celebrating tonight! Tonight’s program spent the most time celebrating those who try new sports.
Whether you are post run or in need of Saturday coffee, get to the Northeast Farmers Market. Open 9-1:00 each Saturday. Asparagus, radishes, and rhubarb seem to be the main veggie attraction today!
Met two remarkable people at the Kiwanis/Northeast Lions pancake fundraiser Sunday morning: 1) John - one of the two pencil sharpeners of the Lake of the Isles pencil. Visit this silly spectacle June 6! 2) The mayor of Columbia Heights: Amáda Márquez Simula. Thanks for letting me join your table!
From Faribault to Fertile to Farmington, the DFL has strong candidates for State Senate. With Senator @lizboldonmn.bsky.social, I lead the DFL State Senate recruiting campaign and travel the state helping candidates. Pitch in to help: secure.actblue.com/donate/clark...
Bakeries will save the world! I visited Dahlia this morning. They share space with MN Nice Cream at Quincy and Broadway in Northeast Minneapolis. And they make tasty, tasty baked treats. Add them to your long list of must visit places in Minneapolis.
I stop at all lemonade stands - it’s a big reason that I always carry cash. Sadly, this one was already closed.
See you Sunday March 22 at Edison High School for the Senate District 60 DFL endorsing convention. Together, we will keep doing the work by standing up to bullies and helping our neighbors.
During our Judiciary Committee dinner break, I made my way to the partially demolished CVS at Snelling and University. Farewell!
El Taco Riendo dining room is back open and Kristi Noem is fired which means nature is healing. At the Senate I’m continuing to push for rental assistance funding and for an extension of our pre-eviction notice which we need to help families stay in their homes.
Step up and help support our neighbors in need. There’s a food drive tomorrow in Northeast from 9-10 AM. Sign up or help donate: signup.com/mobileweb/2....
Thanks to everyone who showed up to the Capitol today with @unidosmn.bsky.social to push the state to take action to ensure we don’t leave anyone behind.
Stopped by Maya tonight after a full day of work at the Capitol where we’re working to help everyone recover from this ICE invasion. Make sure you’re reaching out to your legislators to support my bills to fund rental assistance and extend the pre-eviction notice required from 14 to 30 days.
Join the Keep Us Housed Bar Crawl this Saturday Feb 28. Tasty beverages and a good cause make an excellent combo! Register and donate here: bit.ly/barcrawl4rent
ICE is still here and our families need help. Help support NE middle school families: givebutter.com/neschool
At Whipple to give my thanks to the volunteers at Haven Watch who are here 24/7 caring for our neighbors as they often get dumped out into the cold without a coat and with no notice to their families. Haven Watch represents the best of who we are & shows we’ll never turn our backs on our community.
We’re still seeing ICE a lot in the suburbs, following legal observers to their homes, and holding tons of our neighbors at Whipple and then dumping them out in the middle of the night. We still need to stay vigilant until every last one of them leaves our state and our neighbors are back home.
ICE is still active all across Minnesota, even parking at observers homes this morning. But we’ve been showing up all weekend with massive food drives, placing hearts where were abducted, at singing marches, and there’s another big protest at Jackson Square Park today at noon. Let’s keep showing up!
