Good morning from the garden. The squash has claimed a second path.
Chinese cabbage called road to purple Bekana. We use it as a salad green or in stir fries.
Pork n beans done right. Local pork with a home made apple and wine reduction. Home grown apples and local top shelf wine with cinnamon, fresh ground nutmeg and Demerara sugar served with home grown beans in butter and flaked salt and a glass of 2023 Tinhorn Creek “The Creek.”
The new look until cataract surgery after which I should only need one pair of glasses.
We may have gone a little too far. Lily has taken up gardening.
Unless they are a lab and then all they ask is “I know you just fed me but where’s dinner?”
Especially when it requires a plastic surgeon to put your finger back together.
We made garlic scape relish today. Not nearly as elaborate as what you’re doing but it’s a great way to deal with an abundance of garlic scapes.
And so ends garden tour day. Many if the visitors were butterflies.
Our Lily is a little more old school mobster about her need for a walk.
The new reads have arrived. My first pair. Ive worn glasses for distance since I was about 15.
The first 3 years were mayhem but then her mother’s name IS Chaos so we should have known. After many meetings she has us trained and things are lovely. #Lily #DaughterofChaos
I do miss him. We lost our other dog Nigel at just 16 weeks to Illness. We have a rose for him too. He was a rescue. It was the cruelest thing to see the poor wee boy shake like he had Parkinson’s. Even when he was sleeping. I’m glad he came to us though. He was well looked after.
We had a Boston Poodle cross named Newman after the character on Seinfeld. He was with us for almost 17 years. We have a rose growing in our garden that my Mum gave us in his memory. He was a very good boy. My in-laws had his brother so they go to grow old together.
Sure but does he come from a mile away if you rustle a bag of cheetos? Because Lily does.
