[This post will upset you if you INSIST on building PCs into cases without exception] BEHOLD!!! A functional PeeSee!! 😁 (This setup will exist for as long as it takes to install and minimally configure CachyOS in preparation for dragonden 4.0)

A computer motherboard, with some necessary components installed, on a cardboard box on top of an active PC on top of a filing cabinet. A power supply rests behind it. This is, in fact, a minimum viable PC. You can actually build a PC on a cardboard box and it will function just fine. It's not recommended to put a full weight GPU onto something like this, however, as it can damage the expansion card slot.

GYEHEHEHEHEHE Oh I love, just LOVE, how cursed and Uncanny Valley this first pseudocode example is. 😈 It triggers both the Python side of me and the Javascript side of me at the same time and it makes me snicker deviously. cc @TheRealPomax

It is a sample of pseudo code from "A Primer on Bézier Curves" by Pomax.

It mixes and mish-mashes syntax from C-style languages and Python at the same time, such as defining a function with the "function" keyword and then using a colon at the end (Python uses the keyword "def" as in "define") with indentation for scoping instead of scoping braces. It also uses a C-style for loop, which Python does not have at all.

For exponentiation it uses the caret symbol instead of the much more common double-asterisk (some languages do not even have this operator and require the use of a "pow" function instead).

And for the factorial operation it uses the exclamation point (this is actual math notation!) instead of a factorial function call. You, the reader, will have to utilize a factorial function provided by your lang of choice, or implement one of your own if necessary.

What language is all this example code in?

There are way too many programming languages to favour one of all others, soo all the example code in this Primer uses a form of pseudo-code that uses a syntax that's close enough to, but not actually, modern scripting languages like JS, Python, etc. That means you won't be able to copy-paste any of it without giving it any thought, but that's intentional: if you're reading this primer, presumably you want to learn, and you don't learn by copy-pasting. You learn by doing things yourself, making mistakes, and then fixing those mistakes. Now, of course, I didn't intentionally add errors in the example code just to trick you into making mistakes (that would be horrible!) but I did intentionally keep the code from favouring one programming language over another. Don't worry though, if you know even a single procedural programming language, you should be able to read the examples without any difficulties.

Hey who wants to see a PUP PRIDE FLAG done entirely in hand-coded SVG? 😁 Each lobe on the bone is a SINGLE cubic bezier, and I literally just guessed-and-checked the control points until it looked good to me.

An athletic masculine version of Calyo poses for the camera in a complete set of pony play gear: Hoof boots, hoof gloves, halter, posture collar, and several more pieces. The entire set is white rubber with gold trim, purple straps with gold trim, and the boots and gloves have purple laces. The hooves are grey, and just visible is a pair of mithril horseshoes.

Time for Pride Month. Genderfluidity has become a MUCH stronger aspect of my identity over the past few years, as I've reconnected with shapes of masculinity that make all my friends go gaga over me, and what better way to celebrate it than with a Pride Bean from @Venerabela 💞 🥰 💞

I need some #botany help from the social mind hive! I see large clusters of these wildflowers blooming in the spring here in western Arkansas but I can't get a positive ID on it via searching and I donmt have my mom's old audubon society field guides anymore. 😭 Help!

These wildflowers have a single compound inflorescence of small, red, tubular florets at the top of a long, sparse stalk. They grow in large colonies of multiple individual flowers.

Here have a quick & dirty chart I whipped up in LibreOffice Calc to illustrate this problem. At the lowest tilt (0.5°) the radar beam could be skimming cloud bases at around 50km out. Higher tilts are more useful for scanning robust updrafts & mesocyclones, but only at close range!

Watching Ryan Hall stream tonight's severe weather over TX,OK,KS,MO, and I wondered how easy it is to find the altitude of the radar beam as a function of tilt and distance from radar site. Law of sines to the rescue. :)
