14 years later. I bought Kingdoms of Amalur the week it came out back in 2012, and even nabbed the hardcover strategy guide for it. I have no fucking idea why I never dove into it beyond the first couple hours. Well... ADHD probably knows, but he's an asshole. Let's see how it holds up in 2026!
Woo! I did not expect a PS4 remaster of a game from 2012 to be one of the most enjoyable Platinum runs ever. I'd even put it up there with 2015's Mad Max. It's grindy, but undeniably fun. 😜 I blame the combat. Shoving a thug's head onto a running table saw never gets old.
That was enough horror for the weekend. Now rewatching Project Hail Mary with the cat. 😜
Holy shit, was this creepy as fuck. Also, I'm glad they made the protagonist an absolute cringey chickenshit. It helped soften the tension. Great acting all around (Inde Navarrette was stellar), but the whole time we were all like, "YOU DESERVE EVERY SHRED OF THIS TORMENT, YOU SELFISH DICKBAG!" 😆
I think I've let the wait simmer long enough. $24 new, and now it's a part of the collection. 😁
16 more trophies to go! I'm gonna have to say that Sleeping Dogs is surprisingly fun to Platinum. The grindy bits are indeed a bit grindy, but the action is just so good, I've yet to get to that "I am so f'ing tired of this game" phase. ... ... well, the chicken fights are tedious... 😆
Fuck, fuck, FUUUUCK!!! Not Sam Neill! Look, I know the fella was 78, but he had just announced that he was cancer free three months ago. Great actor. Extremely pleasant human being. Some of my all-time favorite thrillers were amplified by his presence. This hurts. It really hurts. RIP, Sam.
Make bad games, get laid off. Make good games, get laid off. This industry doesn't just need to crash. It needs to be fucking incinerated.
Game room is nearing completion! Well, at least furniture-wise. 😅 I still have some floating shelves to hang and whatnot, as well as some other gaming decor, but my space is identifiable now! 😆 Also kept the N64 and GameCube easy to access in the cabinet, in case that nostalgia bug hits. 😜
Sony a week ago: *announces killing physical media in 2028* Everyone: "We're done. Fuck you! 👋🖕" *public completely torches them as they don't respond all week* Sony this morning after all that silence: "Buy our fight stick!" Ya know, this inevitable crash is gonna be fucking hilarious.
It's important to keep your belongings labeled so that you can keep track of them. 😜
Fuck all of you. Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft.... all three of you have been pushing for this shit. 🖕
The only sin Supergirl commits is its sheer lack of Lobo. The dude felt more like juat a fan service cameo than a fleshed-out character. Mamoa seemed to be having the time of his life, though. 😅 Still, Milly did a great job. Supergirl was a fun flick!
The little Mickey statue was cool, and while the game was okay, I didn't HATE my purchase as much.... but damn... I was almost as insulted as I was over the OG Assassin's Creed collector's edition, and its pocket-sized figurine of Altair. 😂
Going through a bunch of collector's editions, and I stumbled across the Epic Mickey one I nabbed back in 2010, and I had to snicker. When initially advertised, I thought the "console skin" decals included would, you know, ACTUALLY COVER THE CONSOLE. 🤣 Even the back of the box is misleading.
Game room is still under construction, and damn. Looking back at when Blizzard was almost a religion to me.... ... until I discovered that they were raging douchebags and stopped buying their stuff in 2019. Ah well. Great memories, though! 😆
Can I just have this weather for the entire summer? Please? 🌧 ⛈️
$80 for the base game, and no disc.... Don't give me this, "tHe FiLe SiZe Is ToO bIg!!" excuse. Multi-disc installs have always been a thing. Of all the companies, I didn't expect Rockstar to be this gung-ho about forced digital distribution. Absolute fucking bullshit. 😑
High as a kite. Watching @cupricfox.bsky.social and his gang derp around on Twitch, while replaying Sleeping Dogs. Snacks. I needed a night like tonight. 😅
Fuuuuck, dude. Sleeping Dogs is holding up rather well in 2026. It's a bit glitchy on the PS5, but there's just something about its presentation that really makes it feel fresh again. I forgot how brutally satisfying the melee combat was. Shoving a thug's face into a spinning fan never gets old.
Random as fuck post... Almost 13 years ago, I drew shit. A lot of shit involving GIANT CIRCLES with EVEN MORE GIANT CIRCLES squished together like marshmallows. I think this was close to the time where my passion and drive hit a brick wall at 140mph, because now I'm like "Fuck.. I did this?!" 😐
Sean Patrick Flanery flick from 1995. Explaining it in the worst way possible, it's about a teen whose entire body has been amplified with pure energy after (get this) his mother got struck by lightning while she was pregnant with him. It's not bad, but it plays out like a sappy Xmen origin story.
It really is criminal that Square Enix hasn't bothered returning to Sleeping Dogs. Not even a PS5 framerate upgrade. Nostalgia bit me after my brother-in-law started talking about it this afternoon, and damn... Of all the forgotten games that deserved a sequel, this was in my top ten. Easy.
First Light had a lot of unintentional laugh-out-loud moments for me. 😂 I accidentally hurled Omar over a railing to his death during a sparring match, and the script still had his trainer just casually brushing it off. The game was a great deal of fun, even though it had a handful of flaws.
Today was a good day for some BBQ-ing! 😜🌭🍔 Also, we're pretty much at our one year mark since moving into our house!
