Where is this “categorical opposition”? I’m seeing objections to the U.S. providing massive amounts of aid and support to a country where people are being treated as second class with severely diminished (if not no) legal rights due to being outside of the state’s official ethno-religious identity.

Skeptical of the idea of any 19-year-old having to wear a suit to work everyday, but especially so since Musk’s Wikipedia page describes him as doing “odd jobs” and being a student during this period.
It’s what their religion teaches them. If you make them feel unsafe while they’re invading your country and destroying your home, they have the right to kill you.
The only thing giving me hope is how easy it will for any non-hack majority to reverse Callais and in the process viciously mock Sam Alito for even pretending to believe in a pretext that everyone with a functioning brain 150 years ago knew was complete bullshit.
That doesn’t matter as there are ways to reopen proceedings post-dismissal (one example below). Fraud in the court is one basis for such relief. And as you note, this is exactly what happened here.
I was responding to the below point re: neighboring states. As for countries that honor claims to citizenship by descent, none I’m aware of provide superior legal rights to such claimants over ethnic minorities or permit them to dispossess members of ethnic minority groups already living there.

Lest anyone think this is an aberration, I have a cookbook given to my mom in 1959 and it’s page after page of the most stomach-churning monstrosities imaginable. And I think about it whenever someone wielding vast official powers suggests reverting to pre-1965 immigration restrictions.
