Okay, now it should be working. The issue was mpv's wlshm output uses xrgb8888, and I wasn't handling it (And apparently Skia doesn't care?), so it corrupted the compositors output. Handling it fixed it so now opaque frames should be... opaque.

now mostly working mpv running in WSL being piped through waypipe to an Avalonia Wayland Compositor i'm writing, running on Windows.

They both look great and play pretty damn well, too, but IMO this looks like two censor bars, and once I saw it, I couldn't unsee it. This probably says more about me than the game, however.

Two wrestlers in Title Pro Wrestling, they look nude with censors bars over them, IMHO. But that's not the case, I'm just weird.

Recently, there has been a surge in slopcoded new/hobby “operating systems”. Such slopcoded projects – which, due to the nature of “AI” tools, effectively consist of stolen code – will not be featured on OSNews and submitting them is fruitless.

Other websites may choose to employ lower standards, as is their prerogative, but OSNews will not. I obviously cannot guarantee nothing will ever slip through the cracks, but I will take utmost care to ensure OSNews remains free of these so-called “sloperating systems”. Plagiarism, license-washing, and code theft have no place in the world of enthusiast and hobby operating systems.

They've brought up similar arguments recently with GTA 6 (bsky.app/profile/dras...) and it's wrong here. The disc is, for all intents, irrelevant. Today, games are day one patched and what's on disc passed cert. It "might" work, but it's not the game you end up playing or what people remember.
