What a day

This tree hasn’t slept well and can’t keep pretending anymore. The look is clear on his face. Sign of the times behind him says ”stop”. It feels like the ass crack of winter, it’s so bleak.
Take care of yourself out there and give a tree a hug. Everyone will feel better.

I read your article, especially the section on restricting ICE/CBP to the 100 mile Border Zone. Your definition doesn't match Congress's report or the definition of the External Boundary. I estimate 177m live in the BZ, but it doesn't include Chicago or most of DC. www.congress.gov/crs-product/...

Congress's map of the location of the Border Zone as defined in 8§ 287.1 Definitions:"External boundary. The term external boundary, as used in section 287(a)(3) of the Act, means the land boundaries and the territorial sea of the United States extending 12 nautical miles from the baselines of the United States determined in accordance with international law.

(2) Reasonable distance. The term reasonable distance, as used in section 287(a) (3) of the Act, means within 100 air miles from any external boundary of the United States or any shorter distance which may be fixed by the chief patrol agent for CBP, or the special agent in charge for ICE, or, so far as the power to board and search aircraft is concerned any distance fixed pursuant to paragraph (b) of this section."

Where in VA depends on Miller’s strategy. Most gov will not want to disappear people from their own neighborhood. If he ships agents from out of VA, they won’t tolerate it. There are lots of areas with immigrant populations in VA. arcg.is/5rOvm

There are three main sources for the ArcGIS maps above: Blomberg/Esri (blue dash), M. Palavido (green area), and my maps (red area). A comparison of the maps shows that Bloomberg and Palavido used the coastline to act as the basis for the Border Zone, whereas I used the External Boundary 12 nautical miles offshore. Another difference is revealed when the maps are compared: Bloomberg and I used 100 nautical miles to delimit the Border Zone, whereas Palavido used statute miles.

Searches at International Borders

Fourth Amendment jurisprudence recognizes searches and seizures at international borders as exceptional cases for Fourth Amendment purposes.136 Under what is known as the border search exception, searches performed at international borders do not generally require a warrant, probable cause, or reasonable suspicion.137 This exception to the warrant and probable cause requirements applies to outgoing as well as incoming travelers.138 The Supreme Court has stated that searches at the border "are reasonable simply by virtue of the fact that they occur at the border."139 Citing a lower expectation of privacy at the border, the Court has articulated that "[t]he Fourth Amendment balance between the interests of the Government and the privacy right of the individual is also struck much more favorably to the Government at the border."140 That said, not all searches at the border are per se reasonable under the Fourth Amendment. Some border searches conducted in a particularly offensive manner—such as a body cavity search—may still be limited by the Fourth Amendment.141 Simply stated, the reasonableness of a border search depends on the circumstances of the search itself.
