Today in "what a relaxing Sunday": following a long and far too hot run, plus the usual supermarket trip, we unblocked a chimney to rescue a pigeon that had got itself trapped. The living room is now 40% soot/dust but the pigeon is free (and very pissed off).
The medal is very pretty. It will now go in a drawer where I'll forget about it. Gorgeous route, though, despite a horrible uphill bit at the end.
Gutted to be leaving #emfcamp early: got 6hrs of trains to get home to Norwich then have to be in London tomorrow morning to fly to Norn Ireland to visit the parents. It has been wonderful and my heart is so full and I now have 1047 new projects to start. See you in 2028. Mwah!

We've done 2.5 days of Festival of Storytelling at King's — an event that started with me saying "I might run an afternoon workshop...". 25 sessions later and it has been wonderful. The @kings-dfi.bsky.social team and @kingsartshums.bsky.social are the best. Big thanks to the generosity of MAIS SpA.

@kityates.bsky.social I've a question for you about the London marathon ballot. Entry numbers aren't fixed — you can apply up until the deadline. But they say "pay for an extra entry and double your chances!" but how can that be, if there's not a finite limit on who can enter the ballot? Confused.🫤
Went looking for my library card in the drawer of doom and found my "what were you like in the 90s" ISIC card, so imagine that meme music except I wouldn't have been listening to Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls mostly because I was into grunge and industrial and also because it wasn't released until 1998.
Work is off-the-chart busy these days (have reached the stage where I administer & manage research rather than get to do it; thanks, I hate it). Trying to have at least one weekend day off. An hour of sauna and ice baths this morning has left me feeling temporarily restored. Also: blossom.
