Lenihan is a prime example of far right pseudo intellectual thinking - his take on the recent murders of women is perhaps the worst of his very bad takes. Does he think white Irish men don’t kill (& haven’t killed) many women. Men kill women-it’s misogyny, not migration, race,class -always MISOGYNY
The Irish Labour History Society and the Women’s History Association of Ireland are hosting a conference, 24/25 July, Lissadell, Sligo to mark the centenary of the death of Eva Gore-Booth. Early booking is advised for what will be a gathering of historians & feminists to consider Eva’s legacy. 👇🏼

Seen late yesterday evening on the garden wall of my mother’s house - anyone know what sort of owl this is, and is it unusual to land on wall by the road in a village. It was raining so not many people around but still! Could it be sick? I’ve never seen an owl around here before

On this day, 25/06/1957, Irish revolutionary women Elizabeth O'Farrell died. She was walking on Bray seafront with her life long partner and fellow revolutionary Julia Grenan. She had a sudden heart attack and died in Julia’s arms. They are buried together in Glasnevin cemetery #irishqueerhistories
And later on that day - I’ll be on the panel after the Sunday matinee of ‘An Ideal Husband’ to discuss Wilde as a queer icon. that’s my 2026 pride done! It’s been quite a good one despite all the challenges, the backlash & rising hate/trolling LGBTIQ+ people face these days - esp over the Xsewer.
Three days of fantastic feminist and queer discussion & activism - heartening to hear of all the new research in these areas despite the current climate of hate/fear that sometimes permeates the universities. Off to raise a glass to all the brilliant scholars & activists who enlivened UCD for 3 days

My Mom’s and nieces doggo Pascal (Pascie the Rascie) went off for his big sleep last night. He was the best boi, the sweetest, most gentle of doggos. Hope you’re playing in the long grass over that rainbow 🌈 Pascie. His buddy Cookie will miss him but can visit him in the garden
