Thanks to my tour guide @timofnewbury.bsky.social for getting me round Belgium and Germany on all manner of transport: trains, buses, underground (as shown, Cologne ) and feet. Back home now to foot spa and plasters! It was all really great...
Thanks to Wendy Moore for this gripping account of 18th century life. It is uncanny how familiar the themes are: #misogony #corruption in politics. Early modern #history has it all.
Get special tick removing tweezers, clean the area well and always apply 20 to 50% DEET repellant as a preventer. This was a non engorged little nymph so low risk fortunately but surveillance is underway #tickremoval
63 cyclists spotted in two hours on Andover Road, Newbury.#cyclecount Nice to see cycle paths in use @westberksspokes.bsky.social
Pop along to West Berkshire Museum to see a replica of a piece of decoratively carved wood which experts believe is the oldest ever found in Britain. The 6,000-year-old piece of oak, found in Boxford, West Berks, is now on display there.
In #worcester quite an appropriate time to be here. History repeats itself……

Tomorrow is All Saints' Day. We honour, celebrate and remember our Dead. Join us to learn about them, have spooky fun and partake of mulled fruit juice or wine. I will be there at 5pm representing the Doltons again, this time as Rose. Say no more! #Newbury #history #allsaintsday #graveyard

RIP my Dad, died #onthisday in 1989. This year I retraced his footsteps as an airman shot down in Holland. The sacrifices of that generation seem more real. Thanks to the Dutch for the support given to him in 1943 #RAF #WW2 Flowers and the story: thevaliantheart.wordpress.com/2025/09/23/i...
As you can see I have been super busy this week. There are lots of issues and some are easier to fix than others ...........
Huge thanks to @johnsweeneyroar.bsky.social for coming to #Newbury Town Hall to talk about modern day fascism, the threat from Putin and Trump and #ukraine. How can anyone be so funny & deadly serious at the same time? Keep it up, John. #VPDFO
