"We should have ordered more." (Guys, do you not have a relationship with a shop that would do a one-day turnaround???) But they felt the size S shirts were running big, and I thought it looked like one might fit. So I am engaging in subterfuge. Nobody tell him.

The inside collar of a white t-shirt, with a printed-on label rather than a tag. It shows the store name - Rush Hour - and their tagline - "no Problem. Just Rush Hour!" Crucially, it also shows a bar with a range of sizes from XS to XXL. There is a white-on-black circle around size S.

I have crossed size off in black Sharpie and circled size M. I'm going to tell him "they got a deal on some mislabled blanks." Dad has sold approximately one million t-shirts at car shows so he knows this is plausible. I'm pretty sure he will report that it fits fine.

I spotted this amazing t-shirt on some dude at West Seattle Summer Fest on Friday, and knew I HAD to get one for my dad.

A white t-shirt with a vibrantly colored illustration on it featuring a green and yellow lizard wearing red sunglasses tearing down the Space Needle (which is on fire) while also smashing it with a red wedge-shaped electric guitar (which is either also on fire, or is causing fires?) The pavement is cracking, there is lightning in the sky, and all of this is taking place inside Lumen Field because its iconic steel arches can be seen in the back (the Space Needle is not in Lumen Field) but also in West Seattle because there is a street sign that says "California Ave. SW" (neither Lumen Field nor the Space Needle is in West Seattle). Across the top in the Van Halen font are the letters RH (for Rush Hour, the store that sold the shirt) in red and green, and "SUMMER FEST" in red and yellow capital letters. Across the bottom it says "WEST SEATTLE '26." It is like the best of hot rod show t-shirts and skate shop t-shirts had a baby and set it on fire.

Dahlia and crocosmias are happy this week 🌱

Would it be possible to not have navigation dots on top of text I'm trying to read?

A screen shot of an image attached to a post I was reading (an infographic on patriarchy) that shows a small image of three dots superimposed over the image near the top center. In this case it is partly obscuring the title which reads "What is Patriarchy?" which is still pretty readable, but in the case of screen shots of paragraphs of text, it always obscures part of the material I'm trying to read.

The person who actually wrote this genius piece of text should never have been allowed near a keyboard again, never mind been given a book contract. What a lot of words to say "I am incurious about the lives of anyone outside my circle of friends and annoyed by the implication that I should care."

A truly horrifying photo of a glaucous-winged seagull with a purple starfish stuffed sideways in its gaping maw. Seriously, its chin is on its chest, the top point of the "star" is on the roof of its mouth, and the whole thing is disappearing down its gullet. It's hard to imagine that this isn't a bad Photoshop, but it's absolutely real. Sleep well.

Goth garden isn’t looking its best yet - red dianthus & snapdragons haven’t bloomed yet & black callas are just sprouting, but this year’s coleus are “paprika,” red w/a gold sheen that isn’t v. goth but is awfully pretty. Also did a black/brown and silver pot & added red "dragon's breath" celosia. 🌱

We have a number of very shady spots in our yard that have benefitted.

Digging out giant old hostas last fall and dividing them was a hellish job but spreading them around the yard under the rhododendrons was the best call we've made in a while.

My stalker, I mean partner, took this pic at about 630 this morning. A little later, Milk vaulted to my front side and insisted on being held and snuggled super tightly while he made biscuits on my chest and purred into my chin. Hopefully Milk & Gogo have learned Lessons About Outside. (Doubtful)

Well, these little jerks let themselves out the side door last night. We've seen Milk in the yard a couple of times but not Gogo. We are doing all the things but it's pretty stressful.

Ah, I see you've been to the breakfast served at modest but good hotels in Japan. (This breakfast also featured pastries, a pancake & waffle making device, museli and many dried fruits, and so, so many more things that we could not possibly eat at one meal.)

Scarlet runner beans are so beautiful, even when cooked. We have rootstock in our garden that produces 1-2 pounds every year. I planted some of the cassoulet beans to see if we can cultivate them as well.
