We went out for coffee and pastries this morning (CoRo on 5th Street in Berkeley ☕) and I liked the contrast between the scooter 🛵 and Roz the Rolls.

These lovelies have been giving us pleasure in the courtyard of our condo. They are the result of some guerilla gardening.
Sophie and Daddy on the floor of the smallest room in the house - protected from the outside boomies that happen every year.
Met the photographer at my listing in Napa this morning. I took a few photos while the pro did his thing. The 40 acre view lot should be publicly listed next week!
This afternoon we met a friend for drinks at The Monk's Kettle in Berkeley. Because of the heat, I stuck with cider. It was great to catch up!
Spotted this brown butterfly at the dog park yesterday. It was, taking a rest from flying about in pretty windy weather. I've not seen brown butterflies before, mostly Monarchs and the all white ones. Anyone know what kind this is?
Yesterday, I cleaned all the inked fountain pens that I wasn't using. Yes the photo shows 8 pens. I still have, I think, 8 other fountain pens inked, but I am using them at least once a week, if not daily. The vintage Montblanc M24 (I think) on the far right REALLY needed cleaning.
My husband put together this arrangement of trumpet vine flowers last night. Blossoms came back from wilted once they were in water.
These are examples of each set. From L to R: country cottage, art deco, and late 19th c German. We always think we should have a tea party, but none of the sets has it's associated teapot! I think we could host 24 for tea if we used all 3 sets.
Yes. We are THAT gay couple; we made a meatloaf cake for Sophie for her birthday
Happy May Day! It is my uncle's birthday. It is Sophie's birthday. It is International Workers' Day. When I was younger I would post an image of Lenin. I'm older now. Here's an image of a very unhappy May Pole dance.
Our pup, Sophie, is 5 years old today. She was a scared little pu when she came to us. Now she is a confident, joyous, if a little anxious, 70 pounds of enthusiasm. Happy birthday!
Yesterday, in addition to being my birthday, was "Gotcha Day" for Roz. 5 years ago we drove down to Carlsbad to pick up Roz. And so began my love affair with 5000 pounds of steel. The finest car I have ever owned. Long may she waft down the road! (With me at the wheel!)
Today is the 25th anniversary of my 39th birthday. I'm the guy on the left. Sophie in the middle. My husband, Jeff, on the right. Happy birthday to me!
I had a meeting and had to run some errands today. I hadn't taken Roz out for weeks. Took her out. She ran well. So nice to drive. A few hours well spent.
Sophie had a dream, little feet moving. She woke up in a start, got up and fetched her toy from her toy box, then came back and curled up with the toy.
This is the line for general admission ticket holders at the SF Stationery Fest. I had to wait for someone to leave to get a parking spot.
Spotted this lovely, 59 Willy's Jeep when I was out and about this past week. It is often seen in this location. I enjoy seeing it every time I pass by.
I am feeling the spirit today. The Spirit of Ecstasy (the name of the flying lady pictured here). The reason? I just filled Roz's tank and calculated the gas mileage: 11+ mpg! 🎉 Sounds abysmal. But before I replaced all the fuel injectors I was getting btwn 5 and 6mpg. I'm stoked.🥳
Waiting for my mother to get out of surgery. Any time now! Daffodils from my mother's garden for eyeballs.
What a day! Waiting with my mother at the hospital to see if she broke her hip. My paternal uncle is having surgery at the moment in a different state. Be careful out there!
Another SFBay sunset. San Francisco skyline on the left, Golden Gate on the right. Taken from Emeryville.
Husband and I attended a pop-up event sponsored by our local independent market. I was so intent on getting the entire market sign in the picture that I only got half of my face. 🙃
