fremendous nerd, here for the sietch-posting doing deep dives @ DuneNavigator.com
canonically, this still will have a lot of explaining to do. fremen are conditioned from (very) early childhood not to waste any water. that's why it's a big deal when Paul gives moisture to the dead - they're in awe of it because they can't do it. it's an inhibition not easily overcome.
no, I of course agree with that. 100% there’s no amount of bygones that can excuse a lack of Bijaz
Dune, deleted scene: Leto II (the second) presents Nayla with a genuine crysknife
offtopic: I was a bit concerned that the Odyssey movie is coming out too soon after the latest adaptation. I've now looked it up: the Hallmark TV miniseries (which I remember enjoying) came out in 1997... then again, Ralph Fiennes's The Return was only 2 years ago.
he seems to be type cast as an uber mensch character - I'd add his role as Malik to the list, a human augment in the Enterprise TV series
Dune, deleted scene: Paul Muad'Dib putting on his father's ducal ring
Dune, deleted scene: Leto II on the first day of the Golden Path
i'm looking for a man in spice sands. with a stillsuit. crys knife. blue eyes.
I just realized where I've seen Jason Momoa's menacing stare before - check this out:
i actually like this solution for Edric. spice-filled space coffin and canonically it makes total sense that the Guild would try to hide how their navigators actually look like. kudos.

Dune word of the day: Kanly In-universe, a formal feud or vendetta under the Great Convention → strict rules, originally designed to protect innocent bystanders. From Turkish kanlı, meaning bloody.
Dune word of the day: Harq al-Ada In-universe, a name: "From this moment, you'll be called Breaking of the Habit, which in our tongue is Harq al-Ada." From Arabic خرقالعادة (kharq al-ʿādah), meaning the same -> breaking of habit/custom, often used for miraculous acts.
i'm sorry, i promise to refrain from minute-by-minute commenting but neither of you know about Sliders?! i'm sorry what? when one of its main characters is portrayed by John Rhys-Davies, who is of course primarily known as Noree Moneo, the Atreides mentat in the video game Dune 2000? shame on you
from your lips to the maker’s ears. i really liked how the mini-series did Stilgar in Messiah/Children so hoping for a similar transition. although DV’s version is closer to a Korba type character, leading the Qizarate
reminder for today: if you start Dune 2 at exactly 22:38:42, you will get to 2026 with the Geidi Prime nighttime fireworks on your screen
10/10 Shai-Huluds for the @duneminute.com podcast for their minute by minute recap and analysis of Dune: Part Two. just like for their first season, I've decided to crunch some numbers
@duneminute.com here’s an idea for when you’re done with part 2 😅
