Dungeons & Possums

D&D things, by a fan of stupid trash animals. I want to share positivity and creativity. He/Him. 🇨🇦🇺🇲🏳️🌈 Avatar by the wonderful Luka Rejec!
Well @archarzel.bsky.social it was time to buy more ink and so I have followed through on scooping some EON ink. Unfortunately the Vortex ink is going out of production and so I thought I should go with the Velvet Squid so I don't become a fan of something I won't be able to get again! 😅
You're much too generous, my friend 😅 The ZIG "ai" is a turbo fine, flexy brush. It's left in the photo below, for comparison next to it is a standard Staedtler lead holder and a Pentel Pocket Brush on the far right. I have a "heavy hand" so this is a very challenging new learning experience...
A pale imitation inspired by @perplexingruins.bsky.social boss skeleton below, done as a means of testing my new brush pens. Used Tombow Fudenosuke hard and soft (mostly soft), and Kuretake ZIG "ai" fineliner brush pens. Not a fan of how much lifts off if you erase the pencils beneath... 🤔
It's Paper Trail SA today, an analog media festival downtown where artists from all over the state converge to show off & sell their prints, books, comics, and more. Looking forward to snagging a couple things that jump out and surprise me, and to seeing artists getting the attention they deserve!
Took a $2 garage sale risk on a stuck-shut, long since dried vintage bottle of Sheaffer Skrip ink - just to get the bottle, because of its built-in inkwell. Ive wanted one for ages. Plenty of hot water & superhuman strength later, it is unstuck & cleaned out. Ill refill it with a different ink.
I just had to do some stuff to dodge this garbage. That's why I haven't been around the past few days. Very cool that Bsky is choosing to go Extra with how they interpret access restrictions, and very cool that Texas is garbage.
Been doodling between dinner, World Cup matches, etc. Not wholly sure what I am trying to achieve really, just trying to make a habit of drawing more often, especially with physical media. On the backs of pages Im doing rapid sketches & gestural drawings, but those are barely recognizable 😅
Well @jvwest.bsky.social, in honor of completing my read-through of the 20 issue run of Captain Carrot, I have decided to make it an unofficial Doomslakers reader festival by ordering a pile of different brush pens to try based on your other articles (three of 'em) and various lists on the web.
I just tried this in 4 minutes and I feel like it's all fiction, and certain I did it wrong. I must go faster! (apologies for a photo of an iPad but the effort required to export and transfer the image seems insurmountable, I just accidentally had my dinner delivered to my work 😭)
Tried to copy a painting by Nagai Hiroshi quickly and without focusing super-hard on the paper, more at the reference. It resulted in butchering the proportions of the hatchback, but honestly it could've gone worse. Probably seven or eight minutes I think, I didn't think to time myself.
A quick #workdoodle of a champion claiming his prize from the hoard of a vanquished foe.
🦀 See a crab, post a crab 🦀 The throne crab, a bit of fanart from long long ago based on a terrific post from Throne of Salt: throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2022/01/slus...
It took a visit to a time machine to retrieve this doodle from 2018... Gonna tag @azuli.bsky.social for some Twitter time travel axebeakery!
I think they mean their cereal grains are infected with fungus and they are hallucinating vividly and convulsing while imagining "adventures" 😂
Put up my beautiful drawing by @evlynmoreau.bsky.social with some of the rest of my art! Feels good to have it matted and put up with other friend art. 😊
If you see this, post boob 🍈 🍈 Here is a drawing from 2021 on my original Blogger, which Google emailed me about some months later to tell me violated their policy on explicit nudity and would forever preclude me from advertising using Google AdSense ads on my site. I had zero plans to do so. 🤷
Good morning, blue sky! Hope your lunches are as delicious as this doughnut appears to be for this lil possum!
Turtle in my house now, waiting to hear back from a specialist rescue foundation:
I just rescued this turtle from traffic. He's chillin on my lap now.
How many alligators did you have to put a stick in their mouth to escape unharmed? I have been assured from many, err, documentaries, that this is common and necessary.
John Blanche passed away. What a tremendous loss for so many people whose lives his art touched. One of the most influential artists of our time; his vision of dark, decrepit, corrupt, grim, horror-infused fantasy & sf is the language spoken by billion dollar franchises today. Rest in peace.
Listening to Blue Oyster Cult and reading comic books while half-heartedly doodling with actual pencils and paper. Pretty good way to use up a day-off afternoon... I have been enjoying these capers, @jvwest.bsky.social - it's fun to pick out the little references here and there!
