@scandalous_pdx agree with @coachmaxsteele here. Jeff and l have dealt with serious allegations and misrepresentations too-sometimes from people who have even met us, but never asked us directly - instead just started posting false stories online.
You wouldn't believe what I've faced over the last 10 years simply because I've spoken out about Portland.
It feels like taking shots at effective voices has become a political takedown tactic-or, in my case, a way for people to grow their own social media by attacking someone with visibility. I have had people harass me, dox me, and even show up at my house. I know many others who have experienced similar things.
Anyway, back to the point. Cancel culture isn't my thing. Max is high on my like list. We aren't close, but his wisdom and work in the community speaks for itself.
I've had false things said about me, and I've watched the same tactics used against other people. Too often it's rumors, insinuations, or unverified claims that get repeated until people assume they're true. I won't participate in that.
Max Steele has done incredible work with his voice in Portland. I'm thankful for him, and it's my pleasure to platform his voice.

I went in order to spend a night in a cheerful place with people I knew would be safe. Ended up winning a talking bust of Karl Marx for knowing so much Oregon trivia. Viva la Portland DSA!

This tiny, plump-bodied, big-headed bird is a familiar woodland resident and backyard visitor in the northern U.S. and Canada. Gray overall with light buffy flanks and a contrasting head pattern: black cap, white cheek, and black throat. Short, stubby bill is used for hammering open seeds. Often the core of mixed flocks of songbirds. Visits feeders. Nearly identical to Carolina Chickadee, but range barely overlaps.
Especially note voice, brighter white on wings, and buffier flanks on Black-capped.
*Beware that hybrids occur frequently in the overlap zone and some are best left unidentified.*

I was feeling cold and grumpy and not wanting to do anything, so I made myself go outside and cover the free fridge shelves in the contact paper I bought for them last week. The shelves look cute now, and are also easier to clean, plus I’m feeling better.

When it was our stop, I stopped to tell him how much I liked the painting as we passed his seat, and he then pulled something out of his bag and handed it to me, telling me God bless. It was a signed print of one of his pieces. This is absolutely going up in my office.
