This little tea place down the way from our Osaka hotel is absolutely killing it

French toast that's more "we griddle-fried a cut of bread" than the typical American style plus mango, syrup and real whipped cream

Hit up one of my favorite places on Earth yesterday — Nakano Broadway

The famous mall hallway leading to Nakano Broadway. It is packed with people and stores line both sides; dozens of banners and signs decorate the walls and hang from poles slung over the walkway. The ceiling is arched glass.

The entryway to one of the Mandarake stores inside Nakano Broadway. A series of yokai, sculpted from a variety of materials, including household objects and garbage, sit atop the entryway. They include a skull wreathed in tendrils, a hand with an eye in it, and a ghost wearing a stylized human mask.

A negroni is in a tumbler atop a glass tabletop. Under the glass, the Street Fighter arcade is running. A handsome man — only his arm and the top of one of his legs — is visible in the chair across from the photographer.

A fully blooming lily flower. It is a deep pink with just a hint of purple; the color of each petal fades toward white the further it is from the center. The flower has a crown of yellow stamens in the center.

A pink lily flower is beginning to blossom in a pond that's covered in lily pads, faerie moss and water hyacinth. Each of its petals are perfectly formed, but the flower itself isn't symmetrical, and it's still mostly closed.

So our outdoor pond is coming along after a rocky start But the fish seem to not fear me (took about 3 weeks of conditioning) and the water hyacinth is having babies

Got one of the made-to-order war wagons for Old World for MSRP and it's been a long road — warped resin, strange vent placement, dozens of pieces — but happy to report it's coming together with minimal resculpts

Several miniatures. Foremost is the Empire of Man Old World resin war wagon, horses not attached, with the six soldiers and their armament placed in the wagon itself (unglued); the wagon is a high-walled wheeled conveyance with crennalations.

Chaos hounds probably done? The matted blood came out a little too black, so might hit that real quick with something a little brighter, but trying to not let "halfway decent" be the enemy of "actually finished"

10 Games Workshop Chaos war hounds. They have shaggy brown manes, yellow haunches — some with leopard spots and some with tiger stripes — and bright blue tails and snouts with red noses. The bases are a muddy mess of bones and blood.

First models for my Old World Brayherds are almost done — need to pick out details and tusks n horns n tails, but I wanted to see how my high-concept bases looked before settling on a color "High-concept" of course means "more blood" like I'm Hubbard on a movie set

10 plastic Games Workshop Chaos war hounds. They're on 3-d printed bases that are just piles of skulls. The war hounds have yellow bodies, some with tiger stripes, some with leopard spots and some unadorned. They have large, light brown manes. Their tails, horns, teeth, eyes, etc. are just base coated and clearly unfinished. The bases are a mess of glossy red paint splashed roughly over the skulls, which are brown and ivory.
