“…and they won’t have to burn the books, when no one reads them anyway” LINKS TO MY SHIT:
This time the attacker is grabbing the defender’s arms. This is a very likely scenario, and the defender demonstrates what he would do in this situation (direct knee to the body, follow-up elbow to the attacker’s hunched-over head)
Corny but informative video on the science behind the one-inch-punch
Now we’re getting into the nitty-gritty but this is essentially where we draw our energy for a close range elbow strike.
This won’t be something you do perfect the first time. If you try it out in the wild without any training or practice, you’ll likely do it slow and clumsy. It’ll still hurt the attacker a little bit, and probably surprise them, but they’ll come at you full speed. If you DO stun them, hit them again!
Getting up in your face is one of the most common tactics of anybody looking to bully you and intimidate you. So common that it deserves its own post/zine.
PART 2 HAS ARRIVED. In part 1, I mostly went over the “long guard” and how to control distance to keep them out of your space. In Part 2 we I go over responding to their continued aggression, striking from the “long guard” with the elbow if they keep crashing into your guard.
(20/29) Nothing is impenetrable, the long-guard is no exception. It’s best used in striking-only combat sports, because the tall posture and raised arms leaves you vulnerable to a takedown. However, if a chud actually went for a takedown, they would have no way to claim self-defense. We got you. 👊
(15/20) If they start laughing at you or making fun of you and teasing you for “flinching”, remember, their bullshit is just words. They’re trying to hurt you and provoke you, but words can’t hurt you. Maintain a strong composure and don’t take the bait, keep your guard up. They might step in…
