I got a new tattoo yesterday to celebrate the full moon 😌

me a caucasian blonde woman showing off a new grey scale tattoo on my left upper arm. it’s a vertical series of five circles depicting the waxing and waning moon, with a few stars and five little paw prints leading from my elbow to the bottom moon. close inspection reveals a cat or two in each moon to form the phase. from top to bottom: 1) a black cat stretches on its belly, curving along the bottom quarter of the moon 2) the black cat is on its belly, curled to fill the bottom half 3) a grey tabby has joined the black kitty,filling the top half so they fill the circle in a nose to tail cuddle 4) the black cat is gone leaving the grey tabby to lay on its back filling the top half of the moon in the same paws up position the black cat was in for the second phase but upside down 5) the grey tabby stretches along the top quarter curve of the moon

my boy Ted punches me awake at 0400 every morning. he purrs madly whilst aggressively turning me into biscuits. he leaves after about ten minutes of this forceful kneading then returns after about 45 minutes like he’s given my doughy self time to rise before he punches me again. I love him so much

looking down at handsome black cat Ted as he sits pretty on his butt on the floor with his ears alert and his gaze below the camera like he’s looking at my belly not my face. the angle makes his head look big and his front feet look small. His eyes are bright and golden yellow. the lighting is nice, highlighting his handsome coat so he has lighter eyebrows amid a black shiny coat with bits of white on his chest and his whiskers protruding subtly

this is my kind of reflecting pool

a vertical shot of a western painted turtle standing on a half submerged log in the early summer morning sun. the turtle’s shell is about 20 cm long with a nice shiny green to reflecting the sunshine. facing the right, head and neck extended the turtle is eyeing the camera with legs out, poised to dive at my first wrong move. yellowish neck stripes are visible down its throat with a pattern visible on its sides too. sun reflects off the greenish water in the background and a few leaves on a branch cut across the bottom of the frame. the turtle looks happy if you ask me

from this morning’s walk

somewhat close shot of small pink flowers and leaves of three growing on a vine protruding over murky pond water. the bottom part of the is shadier than the top part yet the lower flowers and such still cast dark shadowy reflections. much of the water is covered in pond scum so it’s not really reflecting other trees. a few flowers emerge from the scum because their vine is submerged

ooh that’s a nice rock! this is my favourite rock! I like to imagine myself doing Karate Kid like stork kicks on this rock while water flows by

looking down at a very flat rock on the shore of a gentle creek; the water is clear so the bottom is visible through the surface while also reflecting trees from the further bank. the rock is in the sun with the water an inch or two below the surface of the rock

still looking down at the very flat rock on the shore of a gentle creek but now I’m standing on it so my green sneakers and socked ankles are visible; from this angle it almost looks like the rock is an island in the creek. can still see the bottom of the creek but also now can see rock texture better along with moss and cottonwood debris upon the rock

the back of my normally pale white calves as I stand in my blueish teal socks with black cats on the hard floor of a tattoo parlour. my calves are dirty with smudge ink and my skin is red around two square(ish) black tattoos, one one each calf. they’re chapter icons from the Wheel of Time books by Robert Jordan

on my left calf is the flame of TarValon with a black outline/background and sun rays coming in on top right and bottom left

on my right is the Dragon’s Fang with a thick black border and the fang has black slashes instead of being solid black

when Bill and Ted came home we let them decide if they’d be strictly indoor kitties… neither has ever tried to get outside. In eight years. I stood just outside the door talking to someone for ten minutes, Bill would eventually come out to for me to pick him up. Not Ted. He likes it inside

I’m a devastated to say that my beautiful boy Bill has large cell lymphoma and chemotherapy is not a reasonable option, so we are starting his palliative care plan. I am not okay.
