In case you enjoyed this two-day (so far) firehose by @kevinmkruse.bsky.social as much as I did, and equally feel that your #Rstats session needs this as a `fortune`-alike tool, fear not. New package `myman` just dropped to offer you `myman()` randow selections. github.com/eddelbuettel...
Norm Matloff (1948-2026) @matloff.bsky.social I was made aware of the post below made by his daughter. We lost another friend and valued long-time contributor the #Rstats community, gone far too soon, and sure to be missed. His memory will be a blessing.
Liberté, Égalité, Mbappé ... ...is what I naming these three 'boules'. It's a switch for the finals from my usual multigrain loaves. #breadsky

I was today years old when I learned base #Rstats has a helper function `data.matrix()`. Better late than never, and it's only been three decades give or take ...
Does anybody else see a wave of recent followers with likely-generated names and weird profiles (zero followers, few dozen following, zero or few posts)? I guess it is an election year so maybe the bots are coming out?

There were four key changes making the posted xG chart such a steep step function. Canada was wasteful, but scored 'eventually' and on balance the result seems fair. South Africa had chances, but those were not as clear cut.
What hope? xG is pretty one sided - courtesy of @futi.live app:
Hey Future Dirk, next time you scramble for ten minutes to find which variable held all 'base' and 'recommended' #Rstats packages, just remember this post (and its Alt-text). You are welcome, sincerely, Current Dirk

The prize does in fact go to all of R Core but five members are singled out. And the bit of code we used before (in 2007 and 2021) to `table()` and `order()` on SVN commits re-creates the very ordering. That was the question I aimed to answer here.
Reproducing the Rousseeuw Prize citation ordering with a few lines of #Rstats code from an older blog post. And once again sincere congratulations for an award so well deserved.
