I enjoy comparing @solar.jamesomalley.co.uk and @solar.bots.edent.tel We're both reasonably close location-wise, but have different panel orientation, amounts, power ratings, etc. There's no right or wrong configuration, but I find it fascinating to see how and where they differ.

Fair play to Thames Water. Reported a blocked sewer earlier. *Three* minutes later, they emailed to say someone would be there shortly! Forty minutes later I had a bloke turn up with a massive hose and snake camera. Took him half an hour to blast away the fatberg 🤢 Not bad for a Saturday service!
Ran the cheap and fairly inefficient air conditioning unit most of yesterday. Our solar panels were still generating *more* electricity than we could use - and kept exporting during the day.
If you're very lucky, you'll see the Goodyear Blimp docking with The Shard - allowing passengers to alight in central London. More details - shkspr.mobi/blog/2012/06...

Hit a delightful milestone this morning. Never let anyone tell you that blogging is dead, or that it is pointless to write, or that the only people engaging are trolls bots. Here's what I wrote about it a few years ago. shkspr.mobi/blog/2023/06...

Over the last month, our #solar panels exported 459kWh of electricity - which earned us a handy little sum! That's not to mention all the electricity we didn't buy during the day because it came directly from our roof.
People in the UK on a variable energy tariff are being *paid* to run their air conditioning! A surplus of renewables means prices are currently negative. Join Octopus and we both get £50. share.octopus.energy/metal-dove-988
