Bloc Party aimed two spotlights directly at me so we are beefing now.
The Black Queen was amazing. Greg Puciato, Asian Steve, Danny Lohner, and Chris Pennie all kicked out Fever Daydream and a few songs from Infinite Games so well. I cried during Distanced and Apocalypse Morning. Also we got to meet Danny.
Clubdrugs was good too. Very different vibe the synth wave sounds were great, and I don't think I've ever felt a song physically as hard as their closer.
Day two: first opener was Trace Amount and it was like being caught in the angriest industrial thunderstorm ever. Dude ended the store drumming on a Roland pad in the pit.
I'm not sure if the best part was "Summer Nights" with a blast beat, the Slayer style "Raining Men", or the amazing work their hype man did including throwing a Timbit I almost caught. Tragedy is fucking awesome.
Life sucks especially hard right now and the future is very uncertain. But also I saw a warrior woman and a giant rat tonight so that rules.
Carpenter Brut blew us away, as always. I hope I have some energy left for HEALTH oh my gosh.
