EKOenergy ecolabel
@ekoenergy
EKOenergy is a globally available nonprofit ecolabel for #renewableenergy, managed by environmental organisations. By choosing EKOenergy-labelled energy, you help us fight climate change, protect biodiversity, and promote international solidarity. #SDGs
Greetings from the stairs of the parliament! Extreme heat, droughts and forest fires in many parts of the world, and it will get worse if we don't stop using fossil fuels! #RenewablesNow #electrification #fridaysforfuture
Thank you, ForGreen, for highlighting EKOenergy in your Sustainability and Impact Report 2025! And thanks for 11 years of creating positive impact together! We look forward to more of this. 👉 we.forgreen.it/hubfs/RSI/Rd...
EKOenergy mentioned in @solaraid.bsky.social's Annual Report 2024-2025. Thank you, SolarAid. Keep up the great work!
Our weekly reminder for decision-makers: - We know that fossil fuels are gradually killing our planet: from global warming and ocean acidification, to disinformation, wars for oil, and more. - The solutions are readily available: renewables, nature restoration, and cooperation! #FridaysForFuture
Most of the time, we promote EKOenergy from our laptops. But of course, whenever possible, we are happy to share information in person. Today, we are at a Taiwanese cultural festival in the Helsinki city center, with new materials.
Thank you, EKO-Anastasiia, for (almost) 1 year of volunteering at EKOenergy's Secretariat. All the best with your next adventures, and stay in touch. Stay safe! #SupportUkraine #EuropeanSolidarityCorps
Our weekly reminder for decision-makers: The climate crisis is impacting billions around the world, and the only way to turn the tide is by ☀️ ending all fossil fuels, 🌱 protecting nature, 🌍 respecting each other and cooperating. #FridaysForFuture #renewablesnow
Hopeful news from EKOenergy again! In today's newsletter, we write about - the concrete results of solar projects we funded through our Climate Fund, - actions to promote the end of all fossil fuels, - the cost-efficiency of renewable energy worldwide, - and more! 👉 mailchi.mp/ekoenergy/ne...
We are thankful to all those helping consumers switch to renewable energy, and even more so when they mention our label as a good and impactful way to do so. Today's shoutout goes to GreenUP, an authorised EKOenergy seller in Southeast Asia. See their nicely designed and informative leaflet! 👇 👏
In our Climate Stories, we zoom in on a renewable energy project we supported through our Climate Fund. We recently published 3 new editions. They take us to remote villages in Congo, Malaysia & Nigeria. Check them out on our website: www.ekoenergy.org/our-results/...
Today is World #RuralDevelopment Day. Against a backdrop of interconnected crises, the rise of solar power brings new hope for billions of people in rural areas. Here are some photos from solar projects we recently funded in hard-to-reach rural areas. Check out our website to learn more.
Our weekly reminder for decision-makers. We are in the middle of a climate crisis. To turn the tide & ensure this planet can be a safe place for all, we need to: ☀️ End all fossil fuels & switch to renewables instead. 👏 Promote and celebrate solidarity, not greed 🌱 Restore nature #FridaysForFuture
"In 2025, renewables helped avoid an estimated USD 480 billion in fossil-fuel costs and about 8.4 gigatonnes of CO₂ emissions, confirming their role not only as the cheapest new power but as a pillar of energy security, economic stability and resilience." 👉 www.irena.org/Publications...
2026 is halfway! Over the past 6 months, we have continued to do all we can to promote renewable energy. See our regular posts about our actions and results here on Bluesky. Thx a lot to all of you who support us in one way or another. Together, we can do more to accelerate the energy transition.
We've uploaded more Climate Stories leaflets to our website: 1-pagers about recently finalised solar projects we've funded in disadvantaged communities. E.g., this one 👇 📸 about solar systems for 4 remote, hard-to-reach villages in Nigeria. See www.ekoenergy.org/our-results/...
Our weekly reminder for decision-makers: we are in the midst of a climate crisis, and to get out of it, we need to - End all fossil fuels, - Respect nature, - Reward solidarity, not greed. #FridaysForFuture
Reminder: The energy transition must go hand in hand with nature conservation, and our label is a tool to contribute to that. - Criteria considering impact on nature - Environmental Fund to fund river restoration - Mainstreaming nature across various activities - Sharing best practices. - ...
Next Tuesday, 23 June, at 2 pm Turkish time, TETDER (Turkish Clean Energy Consumers Association) will organise a #webinar on ways to accelerate the energy transition, showcasing EKOenergy and the solar projects we fund. More info and registration on LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/posts/tetder...
Some of us are in front of the parliament again. It's our weekly reminder for decision-makers here & elsewhere that much more needs to be done to fight the #climatecrisis - Speed up the energy transition - Phase out fossil fuels - Electrify transport and heating - Respect nature #FridaysForFuture
Here is a reminder of some of the many good reasons for choosing EKOenergy! - Our label brings additional positive impact. - Many standards explicitly mention our label. - Our label is highly aligned with many other sustainability initiatives, even if these don't mention us explicitly.
We just received the final report and many more photos from a successfully completed Climate Fund project in Togo. In 2025, we allocated €59,544 from our Climate Fund to the construction of 2 multifunctional solar platforms in isolated, off-grid villages in Togo. #sdg7 #ruralelectrification
Happy Global Wind Day! Wind energy is one of the cornerstones of the ongoing energy transition. A big shoutout to all those involved in promoting and deploying wind power. Keep up the great work! #Globalwindday
Greetings from the stairs of the parliament. Here we are again with our weekly reminder for decision-makers: Climate change is getting worse year after year, and the only way to stop a catastrophe is by - ending all fossil fuels - restoring nature - replacing greed with respect #FridaysForFuture
☀️ More photos of two solar installations we funded in Nigeria: 🔌 a solar-powered charging station in a remote off-grid village in Bauchi State, in the northeast of Nigeria. 💧a solar-powered water kiosk, in another village also in Bauchi state. #ruralelectrification #solar4development
We endorsed the 2026 Banking on Climate Chaos report. - Investigating the fossil fuel financing and policies of the world’s 65 largest banks. -> Nearly $8.7 trillion in fossil fuel financing since 2015 -> $906 billion in 2025 alone! #DefundClimateChaos 👉 www.bankingonclimatechaos.org
