Obsessed with the little elephant I doodled for the (almost) two year old’s birthday invite. She loves elephants almost as much as she loves babies, but the latter theme would make it look like I’m making a very different announcement.
Everything happening at the hands of our leaders is horrific, so here’s a peek at my four year old’s sketchbook. She doodles a lot more than I do right now.
I’m probably going to disappear for another several months, but before I do: My friend and colleague, Sherry Muyuan He wrote a book about typography, and I know there’s got to be typography perverts on this godforsaken website. It’s honestly a good primer on language in general, on top of design.
Me coded characters. I know myself, and if one of these seems out of place, no it isn’t.
You ever plan out a quilt so elaborate you’re like, “What am I doing to myself?” But at that point you’re committed, so..
AI can’t give you an under painting that smells like garlic and lemons. That’s human ingenuity at work.
I read the book from that post about somebody who bought the original cover painting for this novel. It was advertised to me as a romance, but it was mostly a bittersweet tragedy. I loved it. Now I have post-book hangover, what do I even do with myself?
This butt warming device I have is so stupid expensive to maintain, and it started making this high-pitched whining sound when not in use, and I can’t turn it off. But it’s lasted a good 14 years so far and it gets the job done.
The toddler learned about paper decorations today. I will never have an aesthetic holiday after this lol.
Had to switch images because I can’t guarantee my first choice wasn’t AI, I hate everything.
Doodling botanicals, because holy shit my hands are out of practice.
Finished the baby quilt for my sister at 2am and my baby decided to wake up at 4. 💀
I had to rock a baby to sleep in the middle of workflow and down a couple of pain killers for my head to make it to 3am, but it is done.
I’m making this for a baby shower that’s in two days and I should really just start buying things like a normal person.
I didn’t know what the warriors ethos was, so I looked it up. This is like the equivalent of your corporate boss calling an all hands meeting to talk about company values and putting in 110% at the office.
Spider’s like, “I’m not paying a delivery fee, I’ll just order pick-up.”
I don’t remember exactly what I was going for when I doodled this, but my guess is somebody was talking at me while I was hyper focused on my work and would not stop. Idk why some people need to save their words for the worst possible times.
Posting old doodles until I feel motivated to make new work. The baby sleeps better(ish) now, so I can pick up a pen again..
I got this wallpaper months ago (before we got hit with medical bills) and finally put it up today with my aunt. I’m so glad to have a project done.
I look forward to making art again someday, but keeping these things alive takes a lot more time and energy than I had planned for 😮💨
Progress is slow, because the babies don’t sleep consistently, but I’m enjoying this. Going with stripes instead of one full gradient, hope it doesn’t turn out ugly 🙃
This rug is taking forever and my stitches are not as clean as I like them, but I think I’m enjoying it.
