America has been a "socialist country" since at least FDR and "Social Security" (it is right there in the name). But you could argue that the idea began with my grandfather closing a bank under Oklahoma's state bank insurance law in 1908. It goes back at least that far.

It would be nice. And I am personally favorable towards your plan. But it is not something which is possible in the current environment. The explanation is long (I wrote a book about what is happening). The Christian Nationalists will throw too much at any woman candidate as "only men" can lead.
AI image generation is quite the thing to turn an idea into a nearly-instant image. Trump wants to be remembered for his ballroom. But what I want the next President to do is to install a wind farm on the south lawn and name that for Trump. We will need a lot of power to erase Trump's mess.

I have posted before that ICE is Trump's equivalent of Hitler's brownshirt militia "infamous for their operation outside of the law and their violent intimidation of" people disfavored by Hitler (leftists and Jews). This photo makes an even more visceral comparison.

I picked up a can of this soup to try it. The "LIGHT" part seems to me to be MORE WATER! It is easy to control calories if you just add more water. This is another version of the incredible shrinking product. Still 18.5 ounces, but now MORE WATER!
The West is too far gone to save. But we do not need to suffer through the ongoing decline and fall of the West. We can choose a different direction. And this is the subject of my forthcoming book Surviving Oppression.
I keep wondering if the John Birch Society might make a comeback in the era of Trump. Certainly their old tactics are on wide display these days.
I just got my new AAAS T-shirt, celebrating Diversity In Science. While Trump eliminates diversity in government and halts, at least temporarily, all scientific grants, at least for the NIH. Oh, the irony of a war over diversity in science, which for a long time relied mostly on white men.
