Happy #TerrierTuesday from Bunty, who found something truly foul to dab behind her ears (maybe a fish head; maybe something worse). Dish detergent alternating with vinegar eventually took care of it. Here she is looking painfully cute with Willa.

Hello from the cottage, where so far we have spotted 3 merganser families, a mallard family, and a LOT of Canada geese with babies of various sizes.

why does this only ever apply to dairy and not processing and cooking our food, wearing clothes, breeding better-tasting and more nutritious crops, using soap, or any of the million other "unnatural" things we do every day? My lactase persistence gene says dairy is awesome.

Also, Bunty turned 3 on Friday, and on Saturday we went to the #AireFest meetup in aid of Airedale rescue. There were something like 25 Airedales in attendance (plus a few ringers of the WFT, spaniel, and corgi persuasions). We had the BEST time. #TerrierTuesday

On this #TerrierTuesday I don’t have much to offer in the way of #GreatScapes because I haven’t taken Bunty very many places. (Sorry, puppy!) But here are dome close-to-home favourites.

…I think I went to Yahoo or a similar site to find a Pogues site, from which I figured I could probably get more info. Amazingly, they had an official website! Thanks to the Wayback Machine, you can see why my heart sank when I found it.

Ding ding ding

Dr Jennie Young is a professor of rhetoric who popularized the Burned Haystack Method, which consists of analyzing how men communicate on dating apps. Young feels this is connected to how people view gender roles; many women seek partnership with men still unwilling to trade in the traditional "provider" identity to meet them there.
"It's interesting because the same gender group that's constantly complaining about how women are gold diggers who exploit them for labor and money ... It turns out even they [men] can't think of what they bring to the table other than money," she observed.
