We have a guest here this week, this painting is a gift for them and I originally wanted to have this done last week.
But I was sick.

Thankfully got it done just in time,
our guest is leaving tomorrow.

Their mom took this photo earlier this year, on a walk with their dog, Fred, in Yorkshire Dales. And the moment I saw the photo, I knew I had to paint it. It’s a fantastic image.

The painting is a gift for our guest and their parents. (But mostly for the mom, who took the picture).

It’s painted with gouache paint. I love that medium so much. Still feel like I’m learning how to paint with it. Pretty happy with the reflection of the water.
The house turned out a bit more yellow than it should be, but it’s fine. Really happy with the texture of the tree bark.

Looking at my Pokemon card collection. I can’t help but feel like there is a connection between these two cards. Like it’s a cartoon telling a story. “Sleeping Gloom falling out of a tree” The cards were made 20 years apart.

Second card is from 2023, gloom is falling out of a tree.

The composition is similar, the tree design is similar, the background is similar.

In the first card it is day and in the second one it is sunset. Like some time has passed.

Prepping Gold Ammonite fossil. Since you all seemed to really enjoy my fossil, here is another one I prepped. This one was in a soft matrix, so I could just brush it out with some water. I love that it turned out to be fools gold It’s definitely more difficult with the hard matrix and the Dremel.

This is the stone when I found it, you could only see it poking out a tiny bit on the bottom there.

Hehe, I also prepped this one already, but I didn’t need the Dremel for it, I could just wash away the matrix. Definitely more difficult with the hard matrix, that’s why I trained with this partial fossil.

Preparing Ammonite fossil. I found a few fossils on my trip to the Jurassic Coast, and I finally tried prepping one of the fossils, using my Dremel engraving tool. The worst fossil was the training subject. I need more training, I hit the fossil a lot more than I wanted. Not done with this.

#3DPrinting #Prusa First attempt at sculpting in Blender and printing out a test 😋✨ I touched sculpting in blender once before and it didn’t work at all and I was so confused.. so now I watched a single tutorial and realized it’s very simple. 😛 Will keep working on this model.

Pokemon card quick sketch, Collection of many Pokemon. I made a little bit of a mistake on this, I didn’t know that my marker paper had a right and a wrong side. It makes sense that it would have that. So the colours went a bit runny, got kinda a watercolour look and in some ways I like it.
