This is Ursa. I fostered her u believingthat she was less than 50 pounds and 3 years old. She was not, she is a puppy but she's won my heart. She escaped from a breeding situation, she's had a litter of pups. She's a German Shepherd/husky and she's the smartest dog I've ever met, and the sweetest

Here is my new foster dog Ursa. She was 8 hours from euthanasia at a high kill shelter. I happened to see her randomly on Reddit, and everything clicked into place with someone dropping her off to me. She is super affectionate and if I don't keep her she is going to make someone a wonderful friend.

I was obsessed with her when I was a child. I drew her portrait from the photographs in her first book. I met her once, on her 80th birthday tour. She was radiant. A truly kind, ethical, tireless advocate for the planet. She lives on in us, may her wisdom guide us in these tumultuous times.
