This whole article (linked in next post) is terrifying but I'm sorry, how the fuck are ICE agents getting stolen plates???
Okay but this (from a bartender at Bull's Horn, who was nearby when Pretti was murdered) goes hard as hell
Is there a Reverse Pulitzer for phrasing something in the absolute worst way possible??? (from here: www.nytimes.com/2026/05/11/u...)

Their current summary certainly is a Vibe Shift, particularly the "Trump TRIES to put blame elsewhere" followed by "what he was doing was fully legal"
I'm seeing some posts suggesting that one of the innocent bystander kids from the North Minneapolis shooting is "unresponsive" or "in a coma" but that doesn't seem to be the case. (This situation is awful, to be clear! ICE put those babies in danger!) sahanjournal.com/public-safet...
I heard this story from a fellow observer this morning and didn't want to share it until I had confirmation that it wasn't a rumor, but y'all this is about as Nazi as you can get sahanjournal.com/immigration/...

What led me to discover this was turned on for me was this post (by someone who is *not* a mutual, but it was labeled "rude" and I got curious) ...it's not even mildly impolite????
I'll be honest, "discrepancies" is reallllllllly soft pedaling a massive fuck up here
it just....says so much about how men like this view women, and the ideal way of managing them
I just looked it up and yes, Havers is a babe which is distracting but Claire The new Lynley was on Sexy Vikings 2 and I loved him there (basically...fuckboi who is TRYING to do the right thing, but also keeps accidentally sleeping with, like, the wife of the Byzantine Emperor) so yes I am IN
2) This stupid-expensive* emerald necklace by Jessica McCormack *It's over 2x the median family income in the US
I was looking for movie tickets and apparently, this is the policy for the *movie theater* at the goddamn *mall of america* genuinely, what the hell are teenagers supposed to DO if they're not allowed to go to the movies at the mall
I recently started embroidering and guys I am SO proud of myself because this is the hardest piece I have tackled yet and it actually is turning out okay???
Because I've seen some confusion (and pretty wild speculation) about why there was a 90 minute gap between shootings and how cops still came upon the shooter at Rep Hortman's house as he was killing them, looks like this is why:
Gonna need someone to figure out how many canceled grants in various fields this would cover ASAP
I know we have bigger problems but “this article is very important, therefore we’re going to make it virtually impossible to read” is something we gotta fix
Okay I've been thinking about this weaksauce op-ed for an entire day, and while "oh no the whole church is accidentally doing a nazi salute" is admittedly a not-uncommon problem in Catholicism, it's also hardly insurmountable. You just bend!!! your!!! elbow!!!
so is there anything consumers can do that WON'T raise prices??? because it's starting to feel very damned if you do/damned if you don't I just deeply loathe the "consumers are solely responsible for the economy so everything bad that happens is YOUR FAULT, NORMIES" framing
I tend to be fairly cautious about "man the zeitgeist is shifting" prognostication, but when you've got a 77 year old former railway employee* from Northern Minnesota writing into the newspaper to say "maybe that CEO had it coming" I do feel like something zeitgeisty has shifted
(screenshot because I don't want to get into The Discourse) I have complicated feelings about how well-meaning liberals have decided that each of us, individually, are personally responsible for the well-being of all society *rather than holding accountable people causing the actual problem*
