Are autistic people more logical? Were we the glue which held ancient communities together? Were we the sages & story tellers & berry pickers? Or should we stop placing our value in stories of the distant past & ditch the logic vs emotions dichotomy..
I’ll be away touching grass for a few days. Let’s hope I don’t catch on fire.
Be careful which propaganda you’re unwittingly spreading. I saw one autistic TikToker say that “low support needs autistics hold all the power in autism spaces” and “talk over parents”. Please stop conflating your FYP with society. We have no power.
At this point I’m not tapping the sign, I’m hitting you over the head with it. Not including ALT text on images makes your posts completely inaccessible to millions of people. Reposting things that don’t include ALT text has the same impact. Bluesky has a setting to remind you.
They won’t let my subscribers see my videos but they’ll encourage creeps to play dress up with me. Love that. What a time to be alive.
Was out doing some composting yesterday (it’s going badly idk what I’m doing but I’m still proud)
My favourite thing about this is how noticeably poorer his audio quality gets as he goes.
This is out now. Looking at who is currently in charge of autism funding in the US 👇
Get hyped. I’ll let you know when the premiere is set. Patrons & Members will get to watch it some time tomorrow probably.
None of this is dangerous behaviour that puts anyone at risk. “Rocking, humming, spinning, hand flapping - Tip, provide safe sensory alternatives like fidgets or movement breaks” Nothing here is unsafe, it’s not “acting out” & I thought modern ABA doesn’t do “quiet hands” anymore?
BCABs keep volunteering information which I will be using in my video. One just pasted sections of the Code of Ethics at me but didn't include this bit. "..restrictive or punishment-based procedures only after demonstrating that desired results have not been obtained using less intrusive means."
This is out now. About collecting hobbies, never “finishing” anything, disability & AuDHD. We can’t control what society does to us, we can’t control what disability does to us: but we can control the stories we tell to ourselves about ourselves 💚
Patrons & Members can now watch my new video! AuDHD - Always Starting & Never Finishing
I still get angry replies to this from BCBAs. “That’s outdated! You’re spreading misinformation!” Yet they all go incredibly silent when I ask if they even know that their current code of ethics doesn’t ban the use of aversives but actually advises on the use of “punishment based procedures”.
