The only way to put the hot in a hot cross bun is via toasting. Cafés that microwave = instant fail for HCB101. Show me your hot buns.

Just helped some tourists w big suitcases to cross the road. Went into nearby cafe, they were also heading there and insisted on buying me a coffee to say thank you! After a few goes I gave up protesting (no big deal etc) & accepted ☺️. Hope their flight back to China is a smooth one. 🇳🇿

Everything seems awful rn, but acts of kindness are tangible and meaningful, so give and receive them, if you can. Been down with crushing fatigue since the weekend. Had help from a special person, the teen, and now someone very kind just delivered dinner unexpectedly and I nearly cried.

Homemade golden coloured cornbread, and a dish of Basil, Chicken Gnocchi soup. Dish has a post it note with handwritten reheating instructions.

Ata mārie from Ōtautahi Christchurch. Morning frost and clear skies.

The Ferrier Fountain is flowing, looks like three dandelion heads ( kind of) of varied size. Green spotlights under the water light them up. There are also ducks on the river but they were feeling camera shy.

Am trying to notice the small things too. Replenishing the nectar and bird feed station, and now watching Tauhou, finches and sparrows filling up. Perfect time to delight in the latest Pīpipi (news from Hinewai Reserve on Banks Peninsula, NZ), in classic Hugh style. 🪶🌱.
