designing a new me

I guess doing crossovers when I do fanart is just going to be my thing. It's where my brain always gravitates. In this particular case I was talking with some people on Discord about what Noelle might be like if she ends up in the Dark World. (a distinct possibility) I said it might be interesting if she wound up as something more threatening and combat-oriented than you'd expect, as sort an overcompensation for her fear and timidity. Somebody jokingly suggested katanas being involved and for whatever reason I ended up thinking about Hibiki in Last Blade 2, who is also a nice, intelligent, timid character. So this idea happened.

A feature in the Last Blade games, similar to Samurai Shodown, is that finishing a match with a heavy strike can trigger an animation of the loser getting cut wide open and dying. Hibiki specifically reacts in a horrified manner if you have her do this. Furthermore, if you have her consistently do this in every match in arcade mode, after about six matches or so, she'll suddenly cease her usual horrified reaction. This then results in a special ending where she looks sadistic and says she'll keep on pursuing combat. This seems to be generally referred to as a "psychopath run." This feature sounds... familiar, does it not?

EDIT WITH CHAPTERS 2-4 HINDSIGHT: Not only did I come dangerously close to predicting weird route here, but now Carol has a katana collection AND we know Noelle can equip at least one actual sword. I swear to fucking god if she ends up wielding a katana at any point I am going to shit myself.

this was gonna be a bigger piece but it sorta turned into a WIP gathering dust. So I just added a BG and some effects and call it a day. Have this apparition of Frisk that was supposed to be a part of it as a bonus. I never got around to Chara :( I am getting really into drawing hair.

A collection of equipment and travel gear for a certain someone. With the exception of the gauntlet, everything is based on stuff you might have seen in 600s CE northern Europe. Including some things that were ancient even then, like the dagger.
