I didn’t think this site would be flooded with ai bullshit, but here we are. So much of this crap and the ding dongs who are moved to tears by it.
Four or five F16s just came screaming over Old Town Alexandria. You can just make the out near the comms line and rooftops. They were loud as hell.
This one for me. I laugh cried. I also had to explain it to the yoots on FB when I cross-posted it.
Okay but also: zero single family home for sale, especially around the city center. I thought Alpharetta was quite nice tbh.
My husband got me the cutest sculpture for our anniversary. For my Alexandria peeps, it’s by my friend Lisa whose studio, Keen Things, is in the Torpedo Factory.
I had the pleasure of meeting him and he’s *exactly* as nice as you imagine!
Furlough food: made French Onion soup from scratch. Making the broth was a chore, and caramelizing that much onion was time consuming to say the least. Turned out well though!
If you can find the Big Marty’s - they’re excellent for a Manwhich!
On a related note: these were so good, and the fact they were cut into vegetable-shaped crackers was icing on the cake.
Poop river still has some ice. FYI: federal clean up would involve EPA, maybe Coast Guard. Just putting that out there for no reason whatsoever.
We had our recycling picked up. Not so sure about regular trash. The alley behind/beside our house has clear tire tracks but if your vehicle doesn’t align, you’re SOL. Sorry about the “screenshot”
This is it: the story that broke me. I mourn for my federal coworkers let go by no fault of their own, just chaos and cruelty. For the great journalism WaPo once represented, the fragile thread of hope to which we cling.

Woke up at 3:45 this morning and tossed and turned until I gave up and got out of bed at 4:15. At least I got a head start on breakfast by making the cheddar cheese biscuits? (Breakfast is southern eggs Benedict)
